my changes over the original installed LocalPlayer plugin, which was

I found some dead config bodies in the related config files. No surprise
it all had to be wiped out.
Thanks, Michael. Now we're getting somewhere

A small update. Following the advice in

I set SLIMOPTIONS to --d_startup with absolutely no change in behavior
That option wouldn't change any of the behaviour, except for the

I just upgraded my ReadyNas Pro Logitech Media Server from 7.9.1 =>
7.9.4, and it no longer starts :(
slimserver.log just keeps repeating " Logitech Media Server died.

I tried manually running /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver and immediately get
a segmentation fault.
I am using perl

Hmm... what if you run the server directly as you tried before? With the
additional --d_startup parameter?
Did any binary modules change between 7.9.1 and 7.9.4?
No! That's exactly why I'm utterly confused, why I'd

Thx Michael.
That's exactly how it works on my LMS8.0 RPiOS64 (Debian) installation.
"Settings/Information" shows "/usr/share/lms/Plugins" as plugin
location.
Putting the unzipped plugin dir-structure and content there will
load the plugin after LMS restart.
The $LMSHOME/Plugins dir didn't

I can go into the shell with ssh and edit a file if it permits me to run

Great! I don't have any ReadyNAS nearby. But from reading the package
files I assume there's a file /etc/default/squeezeboxserver. That file
should have a line:

It all wasn't that easy. I am working on changes to the LocalPlayer

I figured I had to wipe the prefs/cache/db directory under /var/lib/lms,
basically starting lms from scratch, to get going.

The issue is probably not the audio format but the transport format.
Flac can be transported via a number of methods. BBC used DASH, A

Joggler is on 7.9.0.
Synology on 7.9.2.
You'd think it'd be the Joggler that fails!

There were lot of changes & bug fixes this year. With old versions -
it's hard to track issues which may have been fixed.
