New user- Font color question

2017-12-15 Thread Ashley McDowell
I would like to save frequently used font colors for later use so I'm not
having to try and re-find the exact color on the color ring. I've noticed
in the rectangle white box below the ring it states "The color you've
chosen. You can drag this color to a palette entry to save it for use in
the future."

Now I'm not seeing where I'm supposed to drag the color too. I can't find
an option for a "palette entry."

Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Just curious, how did that URL leak? Like, did an Oracle IT-department
sent a mail asking to give that link to anyone coming from Oracle? Or
did someone occasionally posted it here?

You can't sign up to Pidgin as it is something that you use to access
the service, not the service itself. You need to contact the people
that run the service you are trying to access, at a guess, your IT
department.

Pidgin simply passes the account details you provide to the service that
you specify. It has nothing to do with determining whether those
details allow you access to that service.

new user question, all buddies not authorized

2015-05-20 Thread Stephen Porter
I've looked quite a bit for an answer, but have come up blank.

I installed Pidgin on a Windows PC, set it up with my mailbox.org account,
and Pidgin says the account is enabled. Yet when I try to add a buddy, I
get a not authorized error, remote server not found.

I've tried inviting people on Gmail, Yahoo, and i...@ddg.gg as a check, to
no avail. So what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Steve

FYI there is a bug in Pidgin 2.10.8 that breaks logging into Facebook
using XMPP. We'll hopefully release 2.10.9 with a fix sometime in the
next four days.

New User, Discouraged.

2014-01-29 Thread Mat Leblanc
Hello, I am new to Pidgin and XMPP. I am trying to combine my Skype,
Facebook, Google Hangouts, and Steam chat using Pidgin. After 2 hours and
not being able to connect to anything I'm starting to realize why this kind
of thing isn't popular. Am I wasting my time trying to use Pidgin to this
end?

Steam chat and Skype are both non-open, non-standard protocols.
There is a plugin for Skype that states it should integrate the chat
with Pidgin, though Skype has to be running in the background, and
isn't officially supported. To my knowledge there isn't a plugin for
Steam like there is for Xfire, but I could be wrong.

Google chat should be pretty easy, there's even a protocol option
for it in the accounts menu
(https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Using%20Pidgin#HowdoIuseAIMMSNYahooGoogleTalkJabberXMPPICQoranyotherprotocol

). Facebook should work via XMPP
(https://www.facebook.com/sitetour/chat.php ).

Not sure what is going on there. Maybe you can't write to you home
directory? Of course, it doesn't make sense to add buddies if you
haven't created any accounts yet.

2. Will Pidgin blink when I have a new message, until I answer it.

I expect what behavior you see this depends what platform you are on.
On my Gnome Linux box the icon in the task bar changes and the text on
the account tab in the chat window changes color. As I remember the
Windows behavior is very similar.

I believe this behavior happens if you have no enabled accounts.

Go to: Accounts Manage Accounts

And make sure you have at least one enabled account.

New user - Can't transfer files.

2007-10-19 Thread igor vieira
Hi all,

I just finished to set up a XMPP server with ejabber and Pigdin as client.
At this moment the shared rooster works good and all user didnt report
problems with msgs or server.
But i was asked about the file transfer by pidgin.
It doesn't work. I tested wih alot of people and it do nothing.

There are two possible errors:

i) I try send a file to userA, he gets the popup asking to accept, so he
accept the file and it doesn't start the transfer. At my computer it shows
the same thing, waiting to file transfer process start.

ii) Other thing what happens is when i try to send a file to userA and he
doesnt get the popup asking to accept and again my pc shows the transfer
window and same msg: waiting to file transfer process to start

And the weird thing is when the file transfer works.
I read about i can't have a NAT and at the intranet i dont have it.
Firewalls are disable and the problem remains.

My system is:
server: Suse 10.0 - ejabber - running as virtual machine.
clients: windows XP and 2k.

Thanks for atention, and sorry for my english.
