menuitem[label=Open All in Tabs] {display: none!important}
menuseparator.bookmarks-actions-menuseparator {display: none!important}

userChrome.css must be located in the chrome folder of your profile. If
you never tweaked your chrome, you'll only find there
userChrome-example.css: make a copy of it, named userChrome.css, and
place the above two lines at its end.

SM old and newer was Just Loaded 2.6.1 - Where is the stuff ?

2011-12-29 Thread Ray Davison

DoctorBill wrote:

OKhere I am again updating and lost - again !

There is apps and there is data. The SM ZIP that you download is the
app. Some data is created by the app. Some data you use the app to
create. The profile is data. Some of the profile the app created and
some you created.

Mozilla apps can be placed on any partition that the OS has access to.
Note, I did not say installed. To me, installed implies integrated
into the OS. Mozilla apps are just sitting somewhere waiting for you to
use them. And you can have as many versions available on the HDD as you
have space for. Mozilla products change a lot. Don't upgrade, have
multiple versions available and delete earlier versions only after you
are satisfied that the newer is better for you. The ZIP distributions
give you easy control over where all the components are placed. An
installer, who knows?

Data can also be placed on any partition. I consider the wrong place
for both Mozilla apps and data to be the boot partition. I think you
need a minimum of three partitions; OS, apps and data. eCS and Win can
share the data; profiles, mail,,,. Until I find something better that
means the data is on FAT32.

To use all Mozilla/SM versions requires three different profiles; one
for 1X, one for 2X before sqlite was added, and one for 2X after sqlite.
You can have multiples of each. I don't know if there is a limit to
the number but I have had a half dozen or so at one time.

If you want a profile for a newer version of SM that looks like an
earlier one, copy the older profile directory to a name that means
something to you, and tell the newer SM to use it.

To be able to select your choice of profile at start-up. run both eCS
and Win apps with a -Profilemanager switch. SM 2x knows to use a 2X
profile for a 2X app, but if you tell it to use a 2X profile that you
were using for 2X prior to sqlite it will update it to 2X after sqlite,
and you won't have your pre-sqlite profile any more; actually I am not
sure how much damage it will do to the pre-sqlite profile.

The first time you run the newer version it will update the older
profile to the newer format. That will leave a bit of trash behind in
the new version, but it is harmless.

Some data Mozilla insists on keeping in the profile directory. Other
data you can put where you want and point the app to it. Prior to
sqlite the bookmark file could be placed anywhere. Since sqlite it is
apparently locked into the profile directory. But you can export it at
close in a form that earlier versions can use, and point the earlier
version to that.

Mail can still be placed anywhere. You point to the mail location in
the mail account setup.

Do you have a 3-button mouse? (A scroll wheel is a button.) If so, do
 the following:

 1. In Windows (not SeaMonkey), select [Start Settings Control Panel].

 2. On the Control Panel window, double-click on the Mouse icon.

 3. On the Mouse Properties window, select the Buttons tab.

 4. On the Buttons tab, select the middle line in the Button Assignment
window and then the Modify button.

I don't have that. I have: switch the primary button assignment, double
click speed and clicklock.

 5. In the pull-down selection list on the Modify Button Function
 window, select Context Menu/Alternate Select.

I don't have this either. XP Pro SP2

 6. Select the OK buttons to close the Modify Button Function and Mouse
Properties windows. Close the Control Panel window.

 7. On the SeaMonkey menu bar, select [Edit Preferences].

 8. On the left side of the Preferences window under Category, select
 [Browser Tabbed Browsing].

 9. On the Tabbed Browsing pane, under Open tabs instead of windows
 for, check the first checkbox.

For me this was checked by default in SM when I upgraded and also, sadly,
lost Piro's TBE (had I known TBE would be lost, I would not have upgraded as
TBE was why I was using SM).

I never tried this middle click with my mouse as I didn't think it would
work since I don't have the settings you describe in Control Panel/Mouse. I
tried it just now on a link in a web forum and it works! I had been right
clicking on links and choosing open in new tab like DoctorBill. So, I am
glad to have learned how to get a new tab to open when clicking on links
without having to do right click, etc. but with TBE now missing from SM, I
will be using Fx mostly since I am totally addicted to TBE3 in Fx and
especialy to Tree Style tabs.

 10. Select the OK button to close the Preferences window.

Before #10, you might also select [Browser Link Behavior] on the left
side of the Preferences window under Category. There, you can set
whether to launch tabs or new windows when a Web page or other
application tries to force a new SeaMonkey window.

I find that feature very useful. I visit 9 sites every day, and
navigating to all of them in my bookmark hierarchy was an aggravation

Junk Settings problem

2011-12-29 Thread Tom S.

Hi all,

I am presently using SeaMonkey 2.6.1 on Windows XP SP3.

My Junk Settings no longer work. It's been this way for a little while.
Here is a view of the Junk Settings panel for one of my mail accounts:

http://www.4shared.com/photo/ToQeYkiD/JunkSettings.html
(All Junk Settings panels show the same as this.)

The address book lists are missing. None of these settings can be
changed. I've tried checking the settings in the Config Editor
(about:config) but couldn't find anything to fix it.

In addition, when a message is marked as junk, it immediately gets
deleted, not put in the junk or trash folders. Nothing can change this
either.

What has happened? Does anyone know how this can be fixed?

2.6.1 stored passwords - multiple redundant repeats over and over

My stored passwords that came over from SM 1.1 are there but now require

When I click on Username, many have multiples of the same Username !

I went to stored passwords, and one I went to often before now has SIX

Was this a bug? Did I do something wrong ? Why would it store repeats
of the very same thing.

This is how I had the settings for Junk Suspect Mail:
http://www.4shared.com/photo/eaqtROB7/JunkSuspMail.html

I changed them to match yours, restarted SeaMonkey, and checked the Junk

This may be another of those problems that only can be fixed by making a

Perhaps I'm not understanding your problem... Why don't you just set the
columns to how you want them? Click the furthest column header (looks
like a down arrow over a box frame) and select 'Recipient'. That will
then display the recipient column - the can then drag the column to
whatever position you wish on column heading bar. You can uncheck the
'From' column if you don't want it to appear in the column headers.
