Re: Sea Monkey shortcomings
To be specific, I can only access the toolbars by clicking view on top toobar, then choosing and checking all four toobar options shown to turn them on. I did this for all four toobars shown and set mail as view. The other toolbars on my system are the navigation toobar and the address toolbar. I don't see a fourth, but since I checked off all toobars to be shown, I don't know why the personal toobar is not there (or on the main SeaMonkey screen.) Oddly enough, a send button appears in a reply post like this but not in the main browser screen when sending or replying to an email. Nowhere have I been able to get the Start button on any other toobar. And I don't know what that personal toolbar is. I've never been able to show it and I've clicked all four toolbar to be shown. Original Message jigo wrote: [quoting me without attribution:] On my system, when I have a mail composition window open, the buttons are (left to right): Send, Address, Attach, Spell. Security, Save. First on the list seems prominent enough for me. Or have you hidden the toolbar? If so, look for a small speckled rectangle just under the word Subject: and click it. The send command is not on my list. What list are you referring to? I have all the toolbars checked as open. It seems odd to me to have it under the file drop-down menu of a toolbar. The send command is usually given a separate, prominent button in other browsers. And all sorts of directions are given for the personal toolbar, but which one is this? Do you have to create it yourself? Most things can't be added to the toolbars shown. This is the default toolbar that came with the program. Under View | Show/Hide it's called Mail Toolbar. I have not modified it, and I have no custom toolbars, no third-party toolbars. When I said list I was referring to the toolbar I had just described. What do you see on your toolbar? Or, as I asked earlier, have you hidden it? --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! windows 7 seamonkey 3.16 and adding accounts
I added more than a single account to my system. The outgoing line for the account was locked to the mail account smtp address. That wasn't especially a problem so long as I was continuing to create mail accounts. However when I tried to create a news account that same smtp address was saved for the news account too. When I tried to get into the settings on the news account to adjust this problem address, seamonkey crashed and I sent a report to mozilla about it earlier today. I am also using nvda a typeof screen reader to have seamonkey read the screens since I can't see the screens. The mail server and news server are both running imap if it makes a difference. jude jdash...@shellworld.net ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Please bottom-post on this forum, thanks. The Send button is meaningless in a browser window, so it won't appear there; similarly, it is meaningless in a mail/news listing, so it doesn't appear there, either (but the mail/news listing does have compose, reply, and other appropriate buttons). The Send button only appears in a mail composition window (CTRL-M to begin a new message, CTRL-R to reply, etc.). If you are using your browser to access webmail, the webmaster should have designed his own send button into his page(s); this is not a feature of SeaMonkey. I don't understand your phrase, in the main browser screen when sending or replying to an email, since the browser is not used to send mail. AFAIK the Start button is a Windows feature, not a SeaMonkey feature. I suppose the Personal toolbar must be one you assembled yourself from available buttons, so if you haven't done so, it would be empty. -- War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left. -- Paul B. Antivirus protection is active. http://www.avast.com Mort, I think if you point to the un0desired URL and right click, one of the options should be to delete. Also you might get more attention to your problem if you select Compose rather than replying to some thread and then deleting the former message and subject!! Hi Daniel, Thanks for your helpful post. 1) When I right click on the item that I desire to delete, the dropdown menu does not include delete. 2) My Windows XP setup has some sort of operating bug. When I attempt to compose a new question to a newsgroup, I get an onscreen message that my software does not reply to newsgroups, only to e-mails. I therefore have no choice but to reply to a posted item on that group, and then delete the unwanted portion. I do not do this to frustrate you, but simply because I have no other choice. 3) Inasmuch as right-clicking does not lead to a delete icon, how then do I in fact delete unwanted items? Thanks again for your current and previous helpful replies, which I really do appreciate. Regards, Mort Linder --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! What happens if you select (highlight) the unwanted item and press your Delete key? Well, of course, you know if you select an item from the location bar history, the browser loads that page. Like Mort, I have no delete option there, either. I can either clear the entire location bar history or not clear any of it. On the other hand, I can selectively delete items from the regular history (CTRL-H).
