I would have thought you could still use your bigpond.com web based

Except that the bigpond email account closes when you close your ADSL2+

I am now saddled with having web based email.

If/when Adrian builds a Win 64-bit 2.52 I'll put it on this PC - it's
currently running his 2.51a1 from mid February. Hopefully it will
include lightning again. I'd even take an updated 2.51 with lightning.

djc

You are aware that SeaMonkey is going to release 2.49 based on Firefox
52 ESR, as an ESR and provide updates for a year.

What Adrian does is his choice.

I do. This is a purely experimental system mainly runs grid software
(boinc apps), so it's ideal to test the latest 64bit versions.

Hence the if/when.

Cheers, djc

Ask and ye shall receive.
Thanks Adrian, 2.52a1 64bit now installed.

MozUser, if you want to download all the messages from a particular
newsgroup onto your hard drive, have a look at
File->Offline->Download/Sync Now setting. This will allow you to just
download (I think) upto 500 messages per news group at a time, although
that 500 number can be changed at Edit->Mail & Newsgroups Account
Setting, then select "Server Settings" for the News Account you want to
download and there, under "Server Settings", you can select how many
messages you download at a time.

If you download the messages to your Hard Drive, they will be stored
there, but, if you have SeaMonkey set up as "Online", then when you
click on a message, SM will try to find it online, and if you are not
online SeaMonkey will probably tell you you are not online or it cannot
find the message or some such. So, to use the messages you have
downloaded onto your hard drive, you need first to go off-line, either
by File->Offline->Work Offline, or, down in the bottom right of your
screen you should see what looks like a power lead plugged into itself.
Click on that to go off-line.

SeaMonkey 2.46 is the latest at
. Any later versions
are either development versions (aurora, beta) or else someone's
non-official, personal creation, all of which carry some end-user risk.

The SeaMonkey site is still offering 2.46, and I don't see any 2.49

I had 2.49 download on 2 out of 4 of my machines. I tried checking for updates
on the other 2 but got nothing. I suppose the other machines will get 2.49

Do you not understand you can have as many profiles as you want. Rather
than mess with a profile that might be OK, copy it with a different
name, and play with that one. Or, create a new, clean one.

Yes, already have Default plus three others (old ones).
