Manual installation of 2.49.3
Just to confirm - doing the manual install from 2.46 to 2.49.4 - all of my old emails will be migrated to the new version, yes? I'm just a little gun-shy when I'm asked to confirm that I want to install by "replacing" the previous version. Where as the missing message numbers??
Whilst having a look at bug #43278 which deals with marking cross-posted posted messages as read, I had to look at my news.mozilla.com.rc file and found that the line for, e.g., mozilla.general, and it looked like mozilla.general: 1,108291-108954,108956-109166,109168-109233,109236-111978,111980-112011 I posted message # 111979, so I can account for it not being "Marked as Read", but that is the only missing file that I can account for. So what happened to the other missing messages?? The same thing (missing post numbers) occurs in the five groups I use on the news.mozilla.com server. On the odd occasion, I filter some messages out to Trash, but the filter is set to mark those messages as read so they should be listed in the *.rc file as Read, shouldn't they?? Maybe some posts might be caught on the news.mozilla.com server and deleted as "Not Appropriate" or what ever. Maybe the allocated message number doesn't get re-used. What would I know!! What happened to the other missing messages?? -- Daniel User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.49.1 Build identifier: 20171016030418 User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.49.1 Build identifier: 20171015235623 ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

The official release of SeaMonkey, is SeaMonkey 2.49.3, NOT SeaMonkey 2.49.4, in a Microsoft Windows 10 Home, 64-bit Operating System, and I use SeaMonkey 2.49.3. Lloyd F. I'm just a little gun-shy when I'm asked to confirm that I want to install by "replacing" the previous version. Thanks! Forget the "migrate". Get the profile(s) off to a data area. Get the ZIP file. Unzip to a place of your choice. Create a shortcut with the form H:\SM250-Win\seamonkey.exe -Profilemanager. Now when you run the shortcut it will open to profile manager. Select create a profile, and point to the profile you moved. Now you can unzip as many versions of SM as you wish and they can all use the same profile. Do not replace an app until you are sure you like the new better than the old. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
