opening a Sea Monkey file
Hi, I save the posts I receive through SM as files (Ctrl+S). In the earlier SM-versions, as I would open directly these files, no problem (click on the icone of the saved file) ; I could read immediatly the messages. Now, with the latest version, SM opens when I click on the icone and I have to search for the file before opening it. I find, I loose very much time with the process. Is it possible to come back to the old solution ? An old SM-fellow ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Doc Since the original article you posted concerned history sniffing and not flash cookies, I think this thread has gotten a bit off track. They probably did that testing with a bare bones (no extensions installed) browser. Do history sniffing mean cookies? Sorry if that was a result of my saying I didn't know there were flash cookies. Installing the Better Privacy extension solved that problem and they are all deleted when I close my browser. It works with SeaMonkey on openSUSE 11.3. Adblock Plus blocks the ads. So Doc, did you read any of the article I posted the link for? Do you use any of those extensions, and follow safe browsing practices? Use Private Browsing Mode to visit those porn web sites? Yeah, you and a lot of other people. I'm still trying to figure out how this advancement is at all helpful. It's like so many other apps (especially MS Office) where enhancements of new versions spawn a host of how do I make the new version work like the old one? conversations, work-arounds, add-ons etc. Anytime a dev sees that happen they ought to take heed and realize that their view of better doesn't jibe with their users' views. They should realize that they just f***d up a perfectly good and desired product feature. It's kind of like taking sliced bread and saying: Oh! Let's make our new version of sliced bread stick together! The slices will stay fresher longer! Yeah, great. But now it's not sliced bread anymore, ok? It's essentially un-sliced bread. Just because you /can/ do it doesn't mean you /should/ do it. Ask your audience/consumers/customers. If you improve the product enough you just might improve your product right out of existence. And I'm starting to get there with the whole Mozilla line. -- Ed Mullen http://edmullen.net/ Just what the hell was the best thing BEFORE sliced bread? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
