Is that the one that pops up when you Quit/Exit SeaMonkey with the
"Don't ask again" checkbox?

I am not familiar with the checkbox you mention.

Rather, I get the 'restore session' message whenever I have a
transmission or connection interruption or an irregular Windows
shutdown. I just want to be rid of whatever it is that SM is
'remembering'.

I Am running SM 2.32.1 in W 8.1, I have separate folders on my D drive
for each folder. Crazy, but the only way I could figure out that SM
would permit me to use that drive.. I had to re-install w 8.1 and start
from scratch in terms of reloading programs etc...

At any rate, SM freezes when dl mail and will not dl mail beyond message
2756 without returning the above message and a time out too...

I have also increased the time out to 300 seconds. What Am I not doing
correctly for this to work, again? The other Yahoo accounts dl fine.

I have tried g'ling the error message to find a solution and have come
up empty, for the most part and have tried implementing suggestions
found to no avail.

Any suggestions or guides for this?

TIA - bo1953

RETR will be "retrieve".
I'd use the web interface to see what there is there, if there is
anything beyond 2756. Possible corruption in your downloaded-mails
directory.

Check to see if your user name is correct. it may be you need to have
@yahoo appended to it. Are you using the right port. If the server at
Yahoo is busy you may get such a command.

Disable AdBlock Plus on grands-reportages.com or everywhere, mute the

Remember to re-enable ABP when done.

I have disabled AdBlock Plus everywhere, cleared the cache, removed
cookies from grands-reportages.com, then click on the link.
The page opens but I am still unable to see/watch this video
- I just go a grey rectangle where de video should be playing.
And SM works indefinitely with this text in the bottom status bar
"Transferring data from a.disquscdn.com"

Have you tried it in safe mode? If you request about:config, is
media.autoplay.enabled set to true? If you request [Tools > Add-ons
Manager > Plugins], is Shockwave Flash set to "Always Activate"?

Ray's been a poster forever, of course Ray tried safe mode and a test
profile before posting, because he knows the procedure.

Héhé ... thanks .. In Fact I have not tested in Safe Mode, because the
one time I have done it - when I returned in non-safe mode some SM
options has been changed by the fact that I had used Safe Mode GRR

Anyway, i found the culprit.
I just buyed a new pc under windows10 instead of the "old" one in
windows7. and I copied the profile of the Windows7 pc on the right place
of the Windows10 pc - then I install the same SM 2.40.

I have just dicovered that the number of plugins have decreased
significantly in such a way that "Shockwave Flash" doesnot exist on the
windows10 pc who is able to see the video.
Therefore on my windows7 pc who was not able to see the video, i just
put the status of the "Shockwave Flash" as "Never Activate" ... then I
can see the video on this "old" pc.

Try spoofing with "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:43.0)
Gecko/20100101 SeaMonkey/2.40, NOT Firefox/49.0". If that does not
work, then try "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0)
Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0".

The 2nd one worked, David. Thanks.

Playing audio file attached to email

2016-10-21 Thread Bill Spikowski

My voicemail messages are sent to me as MP3 files attached to an email.

I've always just double-clicked the file name in the little "Attachments:"
window, which triggered a SM browser window that let me hit the play button and listen to
the message.

Lately when I try to listen to a message, the browser window is triggered but
it's just a black screen. If I save the MP3 file and open it in other software,
it plays fine, so the problem isn't with the attachments themselves.

Does anyone have an idea what might have changed?

The only recent change I recall is changing a setting so that videos on web
pages wouldn't auto-play; could that block MP3 email attachments???

Re: Seamonkey 2.40 (latest stable) uses NSS 3.20.1 - possible security vulnerability

2016-10-21 Thread Frank-Rainer Grahl

seemonkey wrote:

But it would close the vulnerability in nss. If one would release a seamonkey
let's say 2.40.1 only with the change of nss 3.21.1 the result would be the
same as i described. I didn't mention any bug in the base product. The whole
topic was started with nss and not bugs/sec vuln. in seamonkey.

So keeping SM 2.40 official release without replacing the nss is the worst one
can do at the moment. If you trust an unofficial build (2.46) then install it.
Or copy the dlls as i described.

The worst thing you could do is assume you are covered. It would close
one vulnerability in nss not all. Current nss is 3.28 beta and 3.26.2 in
the next Firefox release. I am quite sure there some few security fixes
in the latest version too. You best protection is still a script and an
Ad blocker when browsing the web.

A 2.40.1 can not be released because the l10n part of the build system
is broken. It it weren't so we would have 2.46 already.

Adrians unofficial builds are ok. You can trust them. And if you run
en-US there are now candidate builds for every platform available too.
They are not final but this only means that the build process stopped
with an error when it came to building the l10n versions. Building en-US
was mostly finished at this stage.

That said ewong is still busy building and I hope we will see the final
2.46 soon.

Yes, as I recall, I disabled AdBlock Plus and Secret Agent when I was

I've got ABP enable in Win7 WOW64 SM 2.40, and the video worked for me,
