I tried Unchecking the  'Advertise Firefox Compatibility'.

My current User Agent value from most recent Firefox is already:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101

Hi All,
I have a problem in SeaMonkey 2.53 x64 (from WG9S web site) Build: 
20190425130005 and earlier had same problem (as did 2.49).


If I browse to https://www.youtube.com/ nothing on the site is 
clickable. All elements are greyed out. This effect is only on YouTube 
and nowhere else I have found so far.


If I browse to YouTube site with (any) another browser and copy the url 
of an article then the Video can play but still the surrounding area 
around the video portion of the screen has no response to mouse 
clicking, just the video portion only.


So, once I have a video url I can play it but I cannot browse the web 
site nor see any surrounding text even.


I have made a screen capture to explain if anyone needs it - I just need 
info on where to upload it for public viewing..


Before anyone suggests disabling all Add-ons (done that), reload browser 
without Add-ons (done that), disabled all AntiVirus programs (done that 
too).


I have created a test SeaMonkey new Profile and YouTube functions ok.

So I am assuming the problem is a config problem and not Add-ons nor 
site blocking problem.


Any suggestions please, I just don't know where else to look.

Yeah. The problem is there is no decent replacement unless you are a fan of so 
called modern UIs. Fx is becoming a joke anyway and drags TB down with it too. 
Some big entity should take away the Chromium engine do a hard fork, set up a 
council and make sure that things like manifest V3 never happens or only in a 
way not harming extensions. Dream on...


Anyway SM is not done yet. 2.53 now has around 1500 patches compared to the 
latest 56 based 2.53a1. Alows bulding with clang linux/macOS and clang-cl for 
Windows. Even VS2019 but the compiler itself is broken. So this can still go 
on and be useable for a while.

It should and did so in the past. Then the problems began. They are
fixed in SM-253 if you are not too blind to find the controls.

Hm. On Linux you can choose between many desktop environments. They are
quite different. You can even choose to use no desktop at all. That's my
choice.

Seems to be a problem with the localization. Or I am mising something.

A possibility.

Mozilla has abandoned the support for Alsa. I noticed that at a time
when I still could use SM-Trunk. My choice was to switch from Alsa to
Pulseaudio, cease to use Mozilla or find a workaround.

At the moment the future of SM is not clear. The 2.57 may come, but
after that? I may have to cease using SM anyway. For the time being, I
am using private builds which can use Alsa. Since SM-Trunk is no longer
usable I have now switched to 2.53.

There may be others who do not like Pulseaudio. For those who have to
choose also I have tried to find a way building 2.57 which could use
both Alsa and Pulseaudio.

That is work. For me personally I am happy with my own private builds
which use Alsa. So I have another choice. Should I just stay with my own
builds and forget about others?

I see the same problem (1) while spoofing Firefox 66.0 and (2) actually
using real Internet Explorer 11.
