A possibility. Mozilla has abandoned the support for Alsa. I noticed that at a time when I still could use SM-Trunk. My choice was to switch from Alsa to Pulseaudio, cease to use Mozilla or find a workaround. At the moment the future of SM is not clear. The 2.57 may come, but after that? I may have to cease using SM anyway. For the time being, I am using private builds which can use Alsa. Since SM-Trunk is no longer usable I have now switched to 2.53. There may be others who do not like Pulseaudio. For those who have to choose also I have tried to find a way building 2.57 which could use both Alsa and Pulseaudio. That is work. For me personally I am happy with my own private builds which use Alsa. So I have another choice. Should I just stay with my own builds and forget about others? Perhaps.
