That newsgroup has been shut down as of Oct 1 by Verizon so it is no longer available online. The problem is I can read the messages if I select "Work Offline" from File. However, that sets all newsgroup to "Work Offline". Is there a way to set just one newsgroup to "Work Offline" while leaving all the others to "Work Online"? If there is, I can't find it in 1.1.18 or in 2.02b Arnie, you have to set SeaMonkey to Offline or Online. So you can read all the other groups whilst online, then select File|Offline|Download sync now and the messages in your "shut down" group (if there are any) will be downloaded for you to read. A better option might be to set yourself up with another news server that does carry your group (if it is still active!!). Daniel Thanks. All of the O,Verizon.xxx newsgroups that were only handled on Verizon news servers have been shut down. They aren't carried any where else. It is no big deal because I only need to refer to these downloaded messages occassionly. Arnie, it's been a good while since I downloaded news groups to my hard disk ( four or five of these mozilla groups that I stopped about 12-18mths ago). If I were downloading this group, all the messages would be stored in a file called mozilla.support.seamonkey without any extension. Do a (Windows) Find File/Folder search looking for the names of the newsgroups your interested in. If nothing else, the file would be readable (well, almost) in a word processor. HTH Daniel I'd just move the whole Verizon folder structure into Local Folders (while SeaMonkey is shut down) So your folder pane becomes: .->Local Folders->news.verizon.net->(lots of verizon newsgroups) Now they are all local folders, SeaMonkey never checks any news server. Once you've verified this works, you can go into account settings and delete the verizon news account. Phil Thanks for the response. Between your suggestion and Daniel's idea, I'm sure I'll get something to work. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
