Did the glow plugs burn out on your own conversion Capra? Last I
heard from Jim Burke he hadn't had any such problems with his
Elsbett kit,
another biodiesel kit is at

there's not a lot of information about the kit ($6500, or $10,000
pre-assembled (USD!)), but this might be of interest. funny how they
include 55 gallons of methanol

Aaron and all,
I'm certainly aware that many might see my comments as a bit rough edged,
but IMNSHO www.biodieselmaker.com is virtually of little to no value or
advantage to someone who wishes to make their own biodiesel, whether it be
for private or shared use.

these were my thoughts exactly. i'm glad you had a similar assessment of
this site. but it's good to know who's trying to sell what to who.

Ethylene Oxide? Isn't that the stuff they used in fuel air bombs, because it
has a tendency to spontaneously ignite when it reached the proper fuel/air
ratio for combustion?

Probably, we kept it under 40 lbs nitrogen gas so it wouldn't
explode. It's Health-Fire-Safety rating was 4-4-4 (bad-bad-bad), it
is a teratogen and mutagen. Was great stuff to work with. I had to
use a 100 lb forced air mask, wear 2-3 layers of gloves (space gloves

Here is some information on turbines used in cars, including the use of a
rotating regenerator, a device that transfers heat from the exhaust gases to
the air about to enter the combustion chambers. This is done to improve the
engine's fuel-efficiency and to reduce the noise and heat levels
