I got an email this afternoon saying that they "just brought the suitcase to a local UPS place and had them see if they could box it and send it ASAP to New York." Which does sound good, but the email didn't mention if it had actually been shipped from Germany yet. I asked her to assure me

Hello, The problem could be an old discone with old 60 foot long feedline. I am happy that I can at least get something. I have been reading up on the antennas and noticed the X-Wing type is what I know as a turnstile antenna. I built a 2-Meter one for Mode A in the 1980s. I may build one

Hi Eric, That's a bit less signal than I'd expect if you have a line-of-sight to the satellites and a low local noise floor in that band (the likely culprit). OTOH, if you're getting any signal at all with a discone, you should be in great shape with a proper satcom antenna. I've managed to

Great to see you & Argentina, Walter! The power failure was a first for the Fest in its 31 years...hope it's the last of those we see. Looks like this part of Pennsylvania is going to get nailed for the second time in a week on Tuesday night / Wednesday, with 8-12 inches of snow - perhaps more -
