Also, will there be a listening lounge? It doesn't appear the hotel has any
balconies or obvious places for antennas.

Apologies for interrupting this mostly quiet list.
Other than getting to see and talk with all of you, my favorite part of the
fest is spending time in the listening lounge and getting to try out and
compare different receivers side-by-side. How different (or similar) are all
our favorite
John, I’d definitely be interested in presenting. I’d lije to resubmit the talk
I didn’t get to give two years ago when I broke my foot.
I’ll send you something tomorrow

Hi Eric,
That's a bit less signal than I'd expect if you have a line-of-sight to the
satellites and a low local noise floor in that band (the likely culprit). OTOH,
if you're getting any signal at all with a discone, you should be in great
shape with a proper satcom antenna.
I've managed to

Thanks for a great fest everyone!
A couple people asked for the links on the last side I showed early Saturday
morning, so I figured I'd post them here:

Transponder spectrum examples: http://www.crypto.com/misc/uhf-sats/spectrum.html
Thanks
Works for me.

What are people planning to bring?
I'll be bringing, with high probability:
Antennas:
- An amplified HF loop antenna
- A long wire (if we can arrange roof access)
- A UHF SATCOM antenna (for the demo after my talk)
- A Kiwa medium wave loop
- A bunch of feedlines, patch cables,
