Would anyone have a problem with me reverting the Wiki to the previous
access tag while we discuss the changes?
Personally I feel this is a complex enough issue to go through it's own
proposal process. Especially because we may end up agreeing on a different
tag to reflect the non-legal but
Personally, I don't think the wiki for a well established tag should be
changed in such a significant way without discussion and voting.
This is because I would oppose changing the access tag away from the legal
access rights. I think if we want to describe something subjective like

I agree with this 'least disagreement'.
I would be happy with both the three you mentioned or surface and a new one to
replace tracktype and smoothness. I hope that whatever we decide we can define
clearly what the state of the surface is for the value used.
Perhaps in some cases we may want
I agree these threads are nearly impossible, but to continue the discussion
could you post a link to the page on the wiki where the discussion can
continue (possibly broken into sections).
Thanks,

I really like the combination of keeping surface and using smoothness to cover

Hi,
I've been observing for a while but I want to chime in on the discussion.
Let's not forget that mapping for OSM is not about the rendering, it's
about mapping what is actually on the ground. Therefore we are actually
discussing two different but related issues.
The first is how to
I like that idea Martin, I've added a link to the playground tag for
tagging individual pieces of equipment (if anyone feels the need to).
Should I just start the voting by putting today's date, or do you
think it should be left for more comments first?
Thanks,

Hi,
I agree with Matthijs that we should avoid a UK centric mode of
thought, which is why I stated I didn't know if this type of thing
exists elsewhere. Apparently it does exist elsewhere, but not in
exactly the same way.
I have just remembered a soft play centre, that includes all parts of

Hi Chaos,
I have just added clarification as to the distinction between soft
play and playgrounds. I agree that if there was an old fashioned
merry-go-round inside a building then it wouldn't be soft play, and
would be called and tagged differently. For example, with a

Due to child protection, you are generally not allowed to take

In the proposal, I linked to a few websites of some soft play centres,
where they have pictures, I hoped this would be fine.

Hi,
I have just proposed a tag to use for soft play centres.
This tag is leisure=soft_play and I detailed it in this proposal
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Soft_play.
There is not currently a tag that covers the usage requirements that this
one does.
I have already used
