Hi Olusegun,

I've cc'd this message to the talk list as well.
Here's a link describing how to set up the reading of PDFs for best
accessibility:

How can I stop PDF files from opening in the browser? I once knew how, but
with Acrobat Reader Pro DC, no luck!!

Subject: reading PDFs

Hi there Folks!

Was trying to read our Radio Club's news letter which is in PDF format.
I am using Acrobat PDF Reader DC - I believe that is what it is called.
I open the PDF attachment in thunderbird and there appears to be text on
the screen but all Window-Eyes will say when I am arrowing through the
document is "Top Bottom"' I wonder if anyone knows what might be going
on..? I have read PDF files using this program in the past with no
issues. Can someone please advise! THANKS and Have A Great Day! de

RE: reading PDFs

2017-01-15 Thread Olusegun -- Victory Associates LTD, Inc. via Talk
Jim, consider refreshing the screen with Insert-Backslash; perhaps this will
make a difference. If the PDF file is an image though, you may need to
perform OCR on it before you can read it.

I find that using the Acrobat Reader Pro DC, I frequently have to refresh
the screen before I can read anything. It sure doesn't feel like the
Acrobat Reader I've known from previous years. Be that as it may, it's
possible there's a setting I need to tweak, but I don't know what that
setting is.

Sincerely,
Olusegun

Hi Jim,

See if you can download the PDF rather than just opening it in the browser,
perhaps by finding the link, pressing the Applications key, arrowing down to
the option to save the PDF to your machine.

Hth,

Rod
