[OSM-talk] All Oregon GIS data now available

2009-05-08 Thread Paul Johnson
A few weeks ago, I contacted Oregon GEO to see if I could get the official GIS data for Oregon relicensed for OpenStreetMap. After a three-week delay from my initial contact, I got a response to check the website again: They had updated it so all their data is in the public domain. So, all of Or

[OSM-talk] Possible import of Metro, Oregon "Bike There!" data

Just a heads up to everyone, Metro DRC is holding a staff meeting on Monday regarding moving to a crowdsourced model to maintain the map. I contacted the Bike There lead yesterday, who informed me this morning that my timing was impeccable, and my expressed interest in merging this data in OSM wil

Dear all, Had a great mapping party in Toronto last weekend but that alone is not worthy of a post to talk. We had a great turn out, two brand new mappers and perfect weather but that too is insufficient for this post to talk. This post is about one mapper and a cool mapping party visualization.

[OSM-talk] Post SOTM: Mapping Party and Accommodation in Germany

2009-05-08 Thread Nick Whitelegg
Hello everyone, Immediately after SOTM I plan to take a trip for two weeks or so through Germany and then down into the Alps. Back in the 1980s I stayed in Münstertal in the Black Forest, just south of Freiburg. Looking at that area it's partially mapped but I do know that there were more footp

Perhaps when the upstream bikeways data changes, it could automatically log an OpenStreetBugs request for the affected area? That would be enough to start with, and over time you could develop code to apply the changes automatically. For the small number of cases where no automatic update is poss

Thanks. I thought of using seasonal, but a short bit of research revealed 3 classifications of waterway. In countries with seasons it makes sense to have seasonal=yes, which can be used for a range of other map features too, but maybe we need something for water features such as Wadis, and
