Hi, I think the tags need to be looked at seriously and amended: for example " fortification=ring_ditch" ring ditches are not known to be fortifications; see http://webgis.archaeology.ie/NationalMonuments/WebServiceQuery/Lookup.aspx for terms "doubled-ringed ringfort" these are called"bivallate

I am using a copy of the townlands and counties layers downloaded from http://www.townlands.ie/page/download/ in a database, and I need a list of the metadata for the layers' columns, (i.e. the metadata meaning an explanation of each column heading). Where can I find that? Thanks, Killian

I guess the situation is different as the waterway changes in Ireland have not caused disputes. The townland boundaries that are set by the commision have not changed, but in osm we are changing them, and amending the boundaries to suit the map rather than the official boundary, Killian Driscoll

I guess the point is 'Inishfale Island' was never an official townland (at least the name doesn't turn up on the online databases, I don't have access to the print copy): the sites and monuments record uses 'Inisfale Island' as the name. Is/was Beggerin Island a townland? Killian Driscoll Banting
