I just took another look at the address bar because, as I said, I just
Alt-D, Control-C, F6. What I realized is that the cursor is always at
the end of the line. Once I realized that arrowing back always works.
Then I went to my GMail account and logged in. Arrowing worked there as
well.
Try the following in IE.
Alt-T Tools.
O Internet options.
Shift-Tab up to the General tab and arrow over to Advanced.
Tab once to Accelerated graphics.
Arrow down once to Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering and
press space to check it and turn it on if it's off.
Tab down to the Apply button and press space.
Close and reopen IE.

I never knew about using f6 for this and always used alt d to get the page
address and then control c to copy it.
