date and time in comment field is not applied to filename, this is internal
info. If You want to define date in filename, use macro like this:

C:\auto-backup_%DATE(-mm-dd)-%TIME(hh-mm-ss).tbk

Try this. Create a shortcut on your desktop to a web page. Make sure
Firefox is *not* open, as this is a necessary condition. Click the
shortcut to open the web page to which it points. The error is
generated. (See attached.) I can reproduce this every time and The Bat!

Is not version numbering used to note how much work was done in the

It doesn't matter what I think. I was explaining that there IS a
protocol for numbering software. I SPECIFICALLY said it didn't mean a
total rewrite but the decimals usually indicate the approximate
amount of code AFFECTED. Whole number increments are new versions - I
didn't even TRY to imply that they threw out all there old code and
started fresh (Really!) Ritlabs could decide that all is ready and
take this very release and rename it 4.0 and release it as a new
version

But since you asked what I think my answer is YES most big companies
are in compliance and follow it fairly closely. It is not a set of
rules but rather guidelines. But it does exist

came up first, I think, already during v1 times. I do need to reply in
HTML to some messages in the office, and the TB! HTML editor produces
embarrasing results (starting from that blue line at the left). As the
advantages of HTML mails (mostly fomratting issues) are used by more
and more people, and hence my need for replies in HTML increases, I am
considering installing something like Eudora Free on my computer, just
for replies in HTML.

Yes, I know Eudora uses the Outlook HTML engine. Ideally, TB! would
have an option to do the same.

To all anti-HTML gurus: I'm in business, and I'm communicating with
customers, so please hold back your philosophy. That's another
dicussion which can be held on TBOT. Thanks.

 Hello Tbbeta,

Please test HTML Editor and Windows Editor in The Bat! 3.98.03,
especially forwarding messages using these editors and replying
quoting selected text. We've done some changes in these editors.

I have done the reply with quoted text using the .html editor and all was fine (given that I accept the unusual way that quoted text appears - not very glorious but certainly functional).

Have a re-enspiriting Sunday, everyone - please.

Hi Thomas,

TF Here is a wish for v4: Please let us use external editors. This wish
TF came up first, I think, already during v1 times. I do need to reply in
TF HTML to some messages in the office, and the TB! HTML editor produces
TF embarrasing results (starting from that blue line at the left). As the
TF advantages of HTML mails (mostly fomratting issues) are used by more
TF and more people, and hence my need for replies in HTML increases, I am
TF considering installing something like Eudora Free on my computer, just

TF customers, so please hold back your philosophy. That's another

Why do you bother with TB? There are plenty of HTML alternatives. I
too am in business communicating with customers around the world. I am
also in the business of educating them. I teach them to create PDF
attachments with OpenOffice or PagePlus as superior alternatives to
HTML when formatting is necessary.

The US Dept. of Defense has banned HTML and Microsoft email clients
and for good reason. Don't you even suggest that we turn TB into the
same crap. Being in business is _no_ excuse for adulterating TB! If
you want to jump in the lake and drown, do it. Don't take anyone else
with you. History proves 80% of the people are wrong 80% of the time.
I want to remain with the 20%.
