Re: Filters working in v5?
Hello Dwight, Thursday, May 3, 2012, 8:15:48 PM, you wrote: Just picking this post to throw in another argument for POP you guys may not be aware of: Slow internet connection. DC so is it faster when you download same data with POP than with IMAP? DC And will you be switching to POP for your phone? No. With POP I can set the machine to download the messages and attachments while I go and make a coffee. Or take a shower (in earlier times with even slower internet connections). Then everything is on my computer and I can work fast. With IMAP I have only the headers on the computer. I want to open a mail and the attachments, it takes ages which I have to spend in front of the computer. I used to have a phone that downloaded messages by POP, but that is nonsense. My iPhone uses IMAP and I only download the headers. Mostly I can judge from the subject line whether I need to read the whole mail and then, whether I actually need to download the attachments. This is very different from the normal working environment: The phone is a crutch I use when I am travelling and do not have access to my laptop. For actaul working, POP is best. -- Cheers, Thomas. http://thomas.fernandez.hat-gar-keine-homepage.de/ Message reply created with The Bat! 5.1.6.2 under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current beta is 5.1.6.4 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hi, noticing something rather strange. In my Windows 7, Firefox is for HTTP and HTTPS the default program. Now I get in TB html messages with links in it. Clicking on a link in such a html message, not firefox, but Internet Explorer is started. However, after changing the message view mode from html to text and clicking then that same link, Firefox is started. -- Regards, Gunivortus Using The Bat Vs. 5.1.6.4 under Windows 7 64 bit POP3 only. Then I would have IMAP emulating POP... Another problem with IMAP is that the messages have to actually be kept on the server. I keep 14 days worth of mail on the server, older mails are on my laptop and my PC. If I keep more than say, 2,000 or 3,000 messages on the server, download becomes very slow, so I try to limit the number of messages. -- Cheers, Thomas. http://thomas.fernandez.hat-gar-keine-homepage.de/ Message reply created with The Bat! 5.1.6.4 under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 3 Current beta is 5.1.6.4 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
