Re: %ABTOxxx macros does not work
Hello, > Using %ABTOxxx macro in new messages always gives blank result. Other Address > Book macros like %ABFromxxx, %ABOFromxxx used in replies work correctly. This > bug completely block new messages with %ABTOxxx macros used in templates. We are unable to replicate that issue with the %ABToFirstName, for instance. Do you use that macro in a template under account properties, folder properties, address book group properties or in a contact's personal template? Please keep in mind the hierarchy of templates as listed in the question above with the contact's template having the top priority and account's template with lowest priority. If the contact's and address book group templates are disabled, then create a new folder, open its properties, add %ABToFirstName to the template for new messages, create a new message, input the recipient from the address book associated with that account and tab to the message body. Then the macro has to trigger and return the recipients first name. -- Alexander Petrari Ritlabs, SRL 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re[2]: 9.2.2.1 PRIVACY violation: The Bat! inserts local hostname (from LAN) instead of IP in brackets
Hello, > The Bat! has a privacy issue which could reveal internal structure of a > company LAN. This topic is more complex than it might look like at the first glance. There are way too many SMTP-servers which deny connections if the email client uses something like [192.68.1.20] during the handshake. In order to avoid such issues The Bat! uses legal means and carries out a reverse DNS lookup and uses the domain name associated with the source IP-address during the handshake with the SMTP-server. Although revealing the domain name might look like the lack of anonymity, in reality it is the originating IP-address (which is anyway included in the headers by the mail server itself) that makes the sender lack anonymity. You can still disguise the domain name in the settings of your local hardware, but there is nothing you can do to prevent the mail server include the originating IP-address. -- Alexander Petrari Ritlabs, SRL 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Re: ***UNCHECKED*** Re: The Bat! 8.6 MSI
Hello, Gwen> You should try it over some hours with a period of 3-5 minutes. Indeed, if you try to get mail every 5 seconds, for instance, then you'll get: 17.08.2018, 15:29:58: FETCH - receiving mail messages 17.08.2018, 15:29:58: FETCH - Connecting to POP3 server securepop.t-online.de on port 995 17.08.2018, 15:29:58: FETCH - Initiating TLS handshake !17.08.2018, 15:29:58: FETCH - TLS handshake failure. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host However, if you check for new mail less frequently, then no such error message appears. Doesn't that mean the mail server refuses to accept too frequent connections rather than a bug in The Bat!? -- Alexander Petrari Current beta is 8.5.8.5 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
