[*] (#02017) Reorganize "Select / Deselect" buttons in finder folders
[*] Change appearance of items in list and tree views
[-] (#1844) On the profile layout settings page, text was not displayed until
a profile was manually selected

P.S. I could miss something while doing this build manually, so please don't

Hmmm. Actually, I didn't think the list order in the announcement matters :-)

Basically, I think there should be no difference in priority between 32 and 64
bits as both are in use.

By the way, it would be nice to see what is version is used more today...

This one must be resolved when we start using Chromium engine. Both rendering

Implementing Chromium engine is planned for the next Beta circle, i.e. a few

Well, it might be not 100% intuitive, but you should start using

Let's talk about it after the next Beta where I believe DevExpress
stuff will be removed and things should get back to the old track -
from what I see, older engine works faster and gives less headache.

I am able to confirm this and it drives me bananas too :-)

I hope removing DevExpress components will speed things up (we'll see
it in a few days), but there are also other things that may slow the
editor down... Anyway, the editor is a very important direction of TB!
development, so I will be doing my best and will ask from the rest of
our team to make the editor the best on the market.

That's because your shortcuts were configured to start in a directory different
to the one where thebat*.exe resides. I guess we need to play with CEF settings
and maybe even move it to its own separate directory

Currently, CEF is not a kind of package which is automatically gets to user
systems (I guess some day it will be distributed like that, but today it's not
the case). So, we are going to distribute CEF as a part of The Bat! package
starting from the next release.

What are your editor/viewer profile settings for background and normal text
colors? Is it auto or it's a specific color?

Also, do you have the "include current profile's layout" option switched off on
HTML editor setting? (it must be off )

What happens visually when a crash occurs? It sounds like the app is very

It's about visual comfort. We used dark theme similar to ChokoDark in Dos
Navigator back in 1992, long before dark themes become a trend. The Bat! had a
non-white default background for similar reasons, so this buzz about dark
themes is not just a toy :-)

Re: 9.3.3 MSI task bar icon

2021-01-28 Thread Stefan Tanurkov via TBBETA
Hello Thomas,

> Not confirmed. Icon beame blank and useless again.

Yeah, it seems you've downloaded a repacked version of MSI.

Those who downloaded the previous version of MSI (which doesn't invalidate
taskbar icon) please check the "Apps and features" ("Add / Delete Programs",
etc) section of Windows settings - maybe you'll need to uninstall a previous
The Bat! version manually.

But there is also good news :) Hopefully, we've finally figured out how to
tweak MSI configuration so the taskbar shortcut survives through updates, but
this will require reinstalling 9.3.3 from the officially downloaded MSI (i.e.
when the release is officially announced and the MSI is downloaded from the
download page - so we know for sure it's the one) and waiting for the next
release...

Yes, it does - we continue working on implementation of the new HTML editor,
this is why this version is still called "Alpha"

Some problems were addressed, not the "jumpinmg cursor" one, though - please

The Bat! doesn't consider certificates without a signing authority as secure,
thus it doesn't establish TLS (SSL) connection. So, yes - it is a "problem",
but "resolving" this problem by providing an option to accept such certificates
opens a Pandora's box...

Could you please provide a log excerpt so I can see what's special about that

The previous editor was not HTML, it was using RTF-based thus creating a lot of
problems. The new editor has a greater potential and works better in most
areas. Those things you're complaining about will be fixed asap.

Sounds pretty strange, I've just tried setting different colors for pasted

No, I deliberately didn't post exe-only archives because it won't work without
new CEF binaries. Bear in mind, you'll need to backup (rename) your current CEF

The table seems to be too complicated for the current Web version of Excel and

can set colors to rows and columns without a problem.

Please note: it is a true Alpha, i.e. it does contain bugs and even can hang
sometimes, so it is not recommended for daily work. However, we are interested
in as wide and as thorough testing as possible, this is why it's made available.
