Hello all,
I saw this problem several times yesterday but, so far, not today.
I always use 'Automatic checking' and, after having written several

I thought I was sick of reading about the spell checker. But since it was not noticing misspelled words on an as you type basis, I ran the check entire message which worked fine, until I tried to add a word to the dictionary.
The word did get added. I was surprised to see how many
dictionaries now appear in the list,
you can select them to add words to and even add words but, as I have
found out a few minutes ago, they are not being used for spell checking.
I was originally confused because I was using Hunspell and CSAPI

Hello MAU,
I can now see that CSAPI user dictionaries are actually not used

Hello Ian,
Now I have to work out which dictionary to add custom words to. It
defaults to accent.tlx, but I am not sure it is the one I should be
using for this.
When you right click on a misspelled word you get the option to select
which dictionary to add to (see attached 'Add_words.png').

M Have you made any change to your Office 2000?
I assumed I was using CSAPI as when the SSCE and Hunspell engines
were added, there was a CSAPI tab there as well. At that time spell
checking worked, and I assumed it was CSAPI that was working because

Hello Ian,
Next it is the spell checker that needs to be fixed. At the moment it
flags errors in the signature of the message but not the text.
I've been thinking about your problem and can't understand it, it's
weird. Unless for some reason it is taking your text as 'quoted text'
which now
, that nothing is picked up in the body and
yes in the signature. I can't think of what's happening.
Maybe SSCE should be canned until it can be made to work with The
Bat!.
SCCE has always worked with TB and is working fine now.
At the moment the spell checking issue is a touch embarrassing
Hello Ian,

Now here's something more.
If a word has an uppercase letters that is in any place other than the
first character position, then at the moment the word is flagged as an
error. For example, ALuminium
A real improvement could be for me (may be for others, too) to be able
to set a priority for languages when checking mixed text.
For example in my case i use German (primary preferred language) and English
(American) in technical mails.
The problem is:

i. e. English is before German?
You are right, i thougt so, also.

this is not exactly a Beta question.

Like others Batters before, I have MS Office 2000 installed, and
