Re[3]: Lost Default User in Network Priviledges (Follow Up)

2003-01-11 Thread Barry Higginbottom
Hello everyone,

There is a definite repeatable problem with my copy of TB1.61

I have tried it on two different machines with the same result on
both.

I have prepared a detailed bug report and sent it on, details follow
for those interested:

The bug description:

Loss of Default User in Network Privileges

Steps to reproduce the bug:

I have four accounts set up. All accounts have 'Administrator'
Privileges. The four accounts are named as follows:

  Barry
  Mutex
  Kentra Default
  Compuserve

If I change the Mutex account to 'User' privileges then restart
TB the account 'Barry' is no longer shown and the setting for
the three accounts that are accessible is set to
  'Administrator'.

If I then scroll through the setting of each of the accounts in
order, i.e. Mutex, Kentra Default, Compuserve and back to Mutex
then the Mutex account is shown as 'User'. I set it back to
'Administrator', then restart TB I am back to four accounts all
  with 'Administrator' privileges.

End of bug report

Go to Options Preferences and under the 'General' tab, select

Right click the CC on the taskbar and select 'move'. The mouse

Go straight to the arrow keys and use them to move the CC window

WIN98 can and often does exhibit these problems after repeated

time it does is when I run another app that uses the IE browser

Not only for a specific program but for a specific window or windows of

I've already created one that appears only when the main TB! or a View
Folder window comes into focus. When it appears, it's anchored to the
lower edge of the Window in focus. This tool-bar contains buttons that
will execute manual filter shortcuts. These filters do things like
adding a sender address to a particular address book, exporting a message
and opening it in my favourite editor, importing the message when
finished and a couple other things.

I'm thinking of creating a toolbar that will appear only when the TB!
message window is in focus. It will contain buttons to carry out things
that I can never remember the keyboard combo for, like indenting text,
and now, adding special characters.

The path to the internet

2003-01-11 Thread Spyder
Does anyone know of a utility that will tell you the path to the internet that
your data takes? Like:
  IE5 -- antivirus -- parental filter -- software firewall -- nic card

nic card -- software firewall -- email antivirus -- spam filter -- the bat
  connection center

I am curious who looks at an email 1st, the anti virus package or spam filter
(both being from different vendors)or even what programs take a peak at
data before it goes outside the computer.

mailtraq revisited

2003-01-11 Thread Luc
 Good evening list,

I added this newsserver news.bradsoft.com to Mailtraq. Configured it
like all my other newsgroups, subscribed to:
topstyle.support.css and topstyle.support.general

On mail gateway, enabled News Same situation on News gateway,

In short: configured everything the same as my other subscriptions.
Created new folders in TB! but:
the messages are downloaded in Mailtraq but not in TB!
Any suggestions? (the newsserver doesn't need a login password).

The over 4,000 database entries and almost daily updates. The free

It is widely considered that this is a good thing.
The downloading of images should be the job of a browser and it can become a

The work-around if you really want to see these images is to double-click on
the HTML attachment to view it in your favourite web browser.

Indeed. I don't use one at work at all. :)

I don't believe you! ;-) You are surrounded by computers in an OP
theater, are you not? Are are you measuring the patient's heartbeat by
holding his wrist and counting his pulse for 15 seconds? ;-)

TF and in fact, I had a sheet with the alt-codes

 Different strokes. :)

Yep. :-)

I know what you mean. It takes time and effort to put the software or
macros together. One then wonders if the effort is worth preventing the
minimal hassle each day, especially since getting accustomed to it makes
 things that much painless.

Right. I know a lot of people who think that everything should be done
by computer, but in my POV this creates a dependency and even creates
inefficiency in some cases.

This is why I personally haven't done anything about it other than
making the character map shortcut more accessible than at
 Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Character Map. ;)

That's what I mean. ;-)

TF Options / Network Admin / (.) Dial-up / [X] No automatic dial for
TF periodic checking.

I did set it as you suggested, but I would like it to check every five
minutes or so for new mail while I am on-line. I had it set for check
every five minutes, but that prompts it to check while off-line as
well.

Thanks to others for the help with the first issue.
