Re[3]: Lost Default User in Network Priviledges (Follow Up)
Hello everyone, There is a definite repeatable problem with my copy of TB1.61 I have tried it on two different machines with the same result on both. I have prepared a detailed bug report and sent it on, details follow for those interested: The bug description: Loss of Default User in Network Privileges Steps to reproduce the bug: I have four accounts set up. All accounts have 'Administrator' Privileges. The four accounts are named as follows: Barry Mutex Kentra Default Compuserve If I change the Mutex account to 'User' privileges then restart TB the account 'Barry' is no longer shown and the setting for the three accounts that are accessible is set to 'Administrator'. If I then scroll through the setting of each of the accounts in order, i.e. Mutex, Kentra Default, Compuserve and back to Mutex then the Mutex account is shown as 'User'. I set it back to 'Administrator', then restart TB I am back to four accounts all with 'Administrator' privileges. Clive, http://spybot.eon.net.au/ What is your basis for saying that this piece of software is very good? The over 4,000 database entries and almost daily updates. The free price, lovely interface, online updates, and extra features (file shredding, track erasing). Plus, recommendations from SpywareInfo.com. Lavasoft ad-aware has questionable integrity and has not been updated. There was an article recommending heavily against Lavasoft and in favor of Spybot SD at SpywareInfo.com. http://www.spywareinfo.com/newsletter/archives/december-2002/12252002.php Hidden ad programs are far more prevalent than viruses -- because there's actual money at stake -- so people are smart to use both types of anti-infection programs. Re: Free choice of browser?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hello Mark, MP Found in the help file: MP When I receive HTML mail, the pictures don't show. The Bat! does not download images that are not sent with the message. It is widely considered that this is a good thing. The downloading of images should be the job of a browser and it can become a security problem when that functionality is given to an off-line email reader. The work-around if you really want to see these images is to double-click on the HTML attachment to view it in your favourite web browser. MP When I do that, the HTML attachment is being viewed in IE, although this is MP not my standard-browser. It might not be your standard but is it your default? I use a browser similar to yours (MyIE) and it has an option to make it your default browser. Upon selecting the option The Bat! automatically opens all of my HTML attachments in MyIE. MP I mainly use Crazy Browser (which uses the MP IE-engine) (and Opera) and when I click URL's, it's always Crazy Browser that's being launched. MP Except in The Bat!.
