Yes. But it sometimes doesn't help since Outlook is pre-configured to
generate HTML/RTF mails. The quotefix will only work with plain text.
Nevertheless, its a start. Here's the links, pass it on! ;-)

This blasted Swen Virus!!

2003-10-12 Thread Barry Higginbottom
Dear TB Users

This blasted Swen virus is getting me down.

Every day I am getting about 150 Swen emails, some with the
attachment, some not. I guess these have been filtered by other
systems. On my dial up connection this is a real pain when faced
with a session download approaching 6Mb!

For the moment I am doing it manually by dispatching the mail off
the server but its a bit of a pain and I'd like to automate it.

I have tried to make up a filter to delete them off the server
before I download them. One side effect of this (apart from the
fact that I haven't been able to get it to work yet!) is that I
think I'm going to have to disable my Kerio spam killer as that
downloads everything to check it out before passing it over to
 TB.

As anyone else suffered from this inconvenience and, more
importantly, devised a TB filter that works. I'm worried that a
filter that deletes off the server is pretty final and whilst I'm
experimenting I may be deleting stuff I actually want. :o)

editing since the %clear macro completely deletes all the text in the
body text field of the editor.

If you wish to be selective with signature and header information

Right. Just like when you click on any mailto link in a webpage, TB opens up
with a new message, right? This is because TB is the registered mail handler.
WinPIM works similar (as will most other PIMs). It stores email addresses in its
contact book. (VERY powerful contact book by the way.)When you click on any of
these addresses, TB opens up and sends a message to that contact.

I'm afraid so. Sorry for making it confusing :) What I meant was that WinPIM can

Actually there might be a way to make TB open up your PIM using the scheduler. I

see if this is true. TB can run programs at certain times using the scheduler,
if I recall correctly.

|
|Mailfilter is a flexible utility for UNIX (-like) operating systems to

|or many POP3 accounts and is especially useful for dialup connections
|via modem, ISDN, etc.
|Mailfilter connects to any POP3 mail box and compares part of its
|content to a set of user defined filter rules. That way the spam gets

|With Mailfilter you can define your own filters (rules) to determine
|which e-mails should be delivered and which are considered waste. Rules
|are Regular Expressions, so you can make use of familiar options from

TF The threads wouldn't be complete, as his replies are not in that
TF folder.

I didn't realize he wanted his own replies there too.

J Tell me... do you find WinPIM to be better than Outlook for PIM stuff?

I haven't used Outlook extensively because of its being so prone to viruses. But
WinPIM can do everything I ever used Outlook for, minus the integration with
Word and other Office products. Check it out - only 3 MB and a great piece of
software. Calendar, notes, plans, tasks, contacts.

Sorry I missed most of this. What is WinPIM and where can I check it
out at?

Re[2]: Canadian The Bat! discussion list

2003-10-12 Thread Constantin Tanurkov
Hello Leif,

Leif I'd love to, but as an American, I don't know how to speak Canadian!

Well, that's really weird... I've always thought that American speak
Canadian... By the way, so far there are subscribed guys from UK,
Germany and even Argentina who seem to speak Canadian very well... :-)
