Hi Thomas and list, On Sunday, May 7, 2006 at 22:30:48 GMT +0700 (which was 17:30 where I live) Thomas Fernandez wrote (at least in parts) and made these valuable points on the subject of Root certificates: During mail download I get the pop-up that the root certificate could not be found. Checking the AB, both intermediate and root are not there. Some time ago I lost those two also. After some 'messing around' (it was a real mess afterwards) with importing certifivates from my notebook-installation I decided to get rid of this installation completely and did a clean install of a distribution version of TB. That did the trick. I only had to import one personally imported root-certificate of my ISP's mail server. -- Regards Michael powered by The BAT! 3.72.12 (Beta), , and MyMacros 1.11a with usual problems of Windows ME Pro 4.90 Build 3000 Current version is 3.80.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

A filter to trap picture spam?
Recently I started receiving picture spam. It consists of HTML formatted messages with a gif included which contains the spam text. The subjct of the spam email message is one or two ordinary words having nothing to do with the spam content. The gif filename is also an ordinary word. Can you suggest a suitable filter to detect these messages and send them to a possible spam folder as soon as they are received? -- Best regards, Costas Current version is 3.80.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

I have found that sometimes they use the same name and have been adding the file name to the list of attached file junk mail filter i have. It is not a good solution. But it is so darn annoying. The problem with this method is that adding things to the filter is problematic in that the bat dialogue screen does some strange refresh, etc. in order to provide the pull down dialogue boxes. What I wonder is if there is a way to cut and paste to the filter instead of having to use the dialogue boxes? Re: Best way to migrate to new pc

T Can anyone comment in particular to the recent version. I just went through this. This is what I wrote on the beta list: Problems: 1.) (Showstopper) The splash screen says I am using an unregistered copy. 2.) Customisations gone. This could easily be fixed by copying the tbuser.def from the back-up to the new location, overwriting the existing new file. This appears to be a programmer oversight, as with this new functionality, the backup routine was not updated. 3.) Settings gone. This refers to window size and location etc. This backup/restore needs work, as it makes only sense when it works completely. Half a backup is half-baked and damages the casual user who relies on TB fully for backup. So if you can live with problems 2 and 3, this is the workaround for problem 1: If you still have the email you received when you paid for TB, open that email and go through the registration process again (Help / Enter Registration Code). If you don't have that email any more, you can request your vendor to send it to you again, but that is troublesome and might cost money. This time, I could import the addresses from the file on disk into the Personal AB entry in the AB window. For the other AB, the only thing that helped was to go to File / Open in the AB window, and when I opened the .abd file from the disk, the entry for this AB entry suddenly showed up in the AB list, and all addresses showed up.
