For Windows remote assistance feature, TB! version makes no
difference.

For TB! on your laptop and your PC to be covered by the same licence
as long as you don't use both copies at the same time, that was
definitely true for v4. It is possible they changed the wording of the
licence for version 5. For up-to-date wording, check the licence.txt
(or similar name) file you will find in your The Bat! program folder
or possibly your The Bat! mail folder - or it may be on the RITlabs
website. Either way, you can do it for a 30-day trial at least.

Already tried that. There is no Voyager in the list of programs I get with
"change program". and ther is no "more options" option for protocols, on Win7,
it's available only for file extensions, so I can't search for a program to be
associated to mailto URLs.

Stream write error

2013-10-20 Thread Achdut18
I am getting annoying error messages that read as follows:

"Stream write error "C:\MAIL\Events.CFG" The process cannot access the
file because another process has locked a portion of the file."

The error message appears in a pop up box in The Bat. Clicking "OK" or
the "X" will remove the box, but it will pop up again in a few
minutes. If I go away from the computer for a long period of time,
upon return I will find dozens and dozens of boxes just like, sitting
on top of the open window of The Bat.

The error messages are sporadic in that they don't always appear in
every session of The Bat. If the messages appear on my computer, they
will also appear on my wife's computer, which has The Bat, installed,
but points to the mail files on my computer. What causes this error
message and how do I get rid of this permanently? The error had
appeared on an older computer that I still use (but not for The Bat).
After transferring The Bat to a newer computer (but still used), the
messages didn't appear for many months. However, following a series
of Windws upgrades, the messages are back. The only way to
temporarily solve the problem is to fully shutdown the computer and
then reboot. Sometimes this will work, sometimes it won't. However,
even when this works, the problem eventually reappears after a number
of days or weeks.

How can I fix this?

What protocol are you trying to change to Voyager?

Dealing with ics files

2013-10-20 Thread Forums
Hello Tbudl,

I was wondering if there is a way for TB to deal with ics files that my
company send me for appointments etc. TB calls them Part.txt2.

The only work around I have found is to use another email client like Outlook,
eMClient etc. and set that to IMAP for that account and leave TB on POP to
continue to download normally from the server. I do not connect directly to the
company server. They are directed to me on 1and1.

Any suggestions appreciated.

It's not that simple, of course, Voyager does not register itself as a default
program.

I guess we need some tool, or a registry configuration file.

Two suggestions.

1. Windows's "remote assistance" feature would quite possibly remote
allow you to log-on to your PC from your laptop. Then you could
just operate your existing installation of The Bat! as if you were
   actually sat at your PC.
