Hi Sefan:

I hope all is well with you. I have not heard anything further and am
wondering if this will ever get resolved.

Any updates? I cannot sort this problem out. I tried deleting all the

getting my main account to filter automatically.

Thank you for your help.

ST Yes I did. Please excuse me for answering so late - I had to
ST resolve some local problems last week... Additionally, your server
ST refuses my messages because something is blocked for abuse.

Sorry. I don't know what that is about. Yours is the first complaint.
I will sent you a PM with another address.

ST I'm playing with your files, but could not see any anomaly so far -
ST everything just works fine, I can add, edit, delete filters and they
ST continue to work.

Same here, but they just do not trigger automatically during the
download process. If I use the original file (untouched), the
filtering is automatic, but for some reason it takes forever to delete
each message on the server and then log off.

ST May be something is wrong with your message base? Is there anything
ST strange in the log files? Also, do the filters fail to work in all
ST accounts or just in some of them?

I do not detect anything awry with the message base. It is regularly
- at least once a day for all folders in all accounts - compressed.
It seems that the failure is with the account named Jon Polish. The
other accounts seem to be working automatically.

Hello Jon,

JP Thanks for replying. No, they are not set to manual. The funny thing
JP is that when I restore the account.srb files (I have several accounts)
JP from version 3.99, the filters all work automatically.

I need to examine both of the .srb files (the original one and the
other one after modification). Could you please send them to me
privately?

Hello Jon,

JP I had a number of filters which automatically sort incoming mail
JP to different folders. The filters worked perfectly until some
JP time after v4.0.x.

Could you please check whether those filters have the Manual Only flag

Thanks for replying. No, they are not set to manual. The funny thing
is that when I restore the account.srb files (I have several accounts)
from version 3.99, the filters all work automatically. The only
problems are:

1. While the old filters work, it takes forever to import and delete
messages from the server. I don't understand why this should be.

2. If I make any change to these files (add a filter, delete a filter,
make a filter inactive, etc.), they no longer work automatically.

Auto filtering of incoming mail

2008-09-02 Thread Jon Polish
This message has been re-sent because apparently the original did not
make it to the list. If it ever does, my apologies for duplicate
posting.

Can someone please help me with this? I had a number of filters which
automatically sort incoming mail to different folders. The filters
worked perfectly until some time after v4.0.x. I seem to recall others
having some difficulty with filters created using v3.x which do not
work correctly in 4. but I don't think this is my problem. How can I
restore this functionality? By the way, re-filtering my inbox works
although the filtering should occur automatically during message
retrieval.

Thank you.

Jon
