I decided to finally upgrade to ver.9 today. So far, I like it a lot.
However, my Yahoo account stopped being able to login. I believe it is because Yahoo has instituted a strict OAUTH policy. So, I went to 'Account -> Properties -> Transport -> Receive mail

in my advice. I think typed in the name of the old account when it
asked me for a new account name. It will recognize the folders and
you should see all of your old folders and messages.
