Hello Thomas, AW I suspect you're right, I need to verify the HD as a precaution. If I were you, this would be my first action. There is no point in backing up, reinstalling, and restoring, if you'll have the same problem again due to a HD problem. To be honest if you have the slightest suspicion you have a hard disk problem I would get any data backed up on an external hard disk if its a laptop or on a spare interface/HD if its the desktop. Quite often various ways of dying hard disks can be detected but they vary in their symptoms. Are you having any other problems pointing to a failing interface or hard disk? System hanging, crashing and is defrag working ok??? -- Best regards, tracermailto:0tra...@gmail.com Current version is 4.2.9.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Hello One website great for getting tools or at least the names of tools is EASEUS. They have also a free and slow but normally quite effective copying program. Put it in google as I just tested that and there are now heaps of links. 2 years ago I had to specify Chengdu and disc utilities (g). Chengdu is a town in China with good food READ the instructions as otherwise fatal mistakes can be made -- Best regards, tracer mailto:0tra...@gmail.com Current version is 4.2.9.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
