Q1   Could you buy two airplane tickets ifyou want an open seat next to
you? Could you put your luggage on that seat?

A1   GeorgeZaharoff Menswear Designer, World Traveler (100+ countries/4
million milesflown)Updated June 7, 2019

Yes.

I travel with my buddy all the time. I book two first-classtickets on the same
reservation and reserve two seats, on the last row of theFirst Class cabin -
the pooch gets the window and I get the aisle. And we makea great team. I book
ZAHAROFF/GEORGE Mr., for myself and then ZAHAROFF/EXTRA SEATfor my pooch. And I
get frequent flyer miles for both seats!

Some purchase an extra seat for an expensive instrument orartwork. I was on an
Air France flight, Chicago to Paris, where just about theentire biz cabin was
booked, each seat had a box of important documents.

Some movie stars (Angelina Jolie) are known to book theentire first class cabin
just for the sake of having privacy.

Addition (09/17)

To elaborate more on the second part of the query - if youare able put luggage
on a empty seat. As I mentioned above on the Air Franceflight I was on, boxes
of very important documents took up just about theentire business class cabin
Paris to Chicago. The boxes where securely placedon each seat, using a special
extention seat belt.

Airlines in the Middle East allow passengers to bring theirfalcons. It happens
more often than one would think. Falconry is a popularsport and many airlines,
including Etihad, Qatar Airways (above), and Emirates, allow a certain number of
raptors in the cabin and/or in checked luggage. Thepicture below (and video
above) was a flight where a Saudi prince brought 80falcons on board. Look
closely and you can see the raptors among thepassengers! The airlines supply a
special “stand” to place on each of theirseats for the falcons. Qatar airlines
even has a page on its website withdetails on transporting falcons.

Q2   At what speed is the Earth revolving?

A2   Wayne Boyd Philosopher, blogger, published author Updated 3h ago

I know you want me to sayabout 1,000 miles per hour at the equator, but I’m
going to put it in adifferent perspective.

Earth rotates around its axis once every 24 hours, or onerevolution per day
(RPD). It’s very slow.

If you had a basketball that turned around once a day and putit on the kitchen
table and stared at it you wouldn’t be able to see it move atall because it’s
rotation is less than what the human eye can detect.

Earth’s rotation is half the speed of an hour hand on ananalog clock. We can’t
even see the hour hand move by staring at it. Nowimagine how Earth is rotating
on its axis half of that speed.

I’ve heard flat-earth people say if Earth was really“spinning around” at 1,000
mph at the equator people would be flung off intospace. This is, of course,
absurd when you realize if you were standing on aball that rotated once every
24 hours you wouldn’t even see or feel it movebecause that’s very, very slow.

Q3   What is the most Telugu thing ever?

A3   RukminiHindupurA southie related with Punjab Updated Mon

There are a few points which define Telugu people.

The names. The name of a new born child includes a fewfavourite deities from
both the parents side. Usually,Veera , Varaha, Satya,Sai, Naga, Shri, Venkata,
Datta etc. Usually all these names are clutchedtogether into a single name, the
actual modern name follows these names. Butwhen the child joins the school, all
the deity names get truncated intoinitials . Hence you find many Telugu people
having at least half a dozeninitials before his name.

For example: P V N S. Rohith. Most probably this gentleman’sname will be
Pagadala (actual surname, name of a village of origin), VenkataNaga Sai Rohith.

I feel that Telugu people are the most pious people in India. They show their
devotion to god by naming their children after deities. Yourarely find Suman,
Nitin, Prasoon or Paraag in Telugu people. Even if found ,usually these names
are preceded by half a dozen deity names.

So if you meet a V V N S S R Prasad in your new job in theUS, you know who.

Q4   Does a fan cool down a room?

A4   MilkShepherd, B.Tech Dairy Technology from SHUATS,
AllahabadAnswered 18h ago

Yes, fans can cool down a room when you use them correctly.

Window fans are installed in open windows to draw cold air inand push hot air
out, and can be set up to cool an entire house. In order forwindow fans to cool
your home, the outdoor temperature must be lower than theindoor temperature.
The best time is night or early morning.

Ceiling fans circulate air in the room by pushing it down. However, they can not
lower the temperature like a window fan or AC unit. Butthey can still cool you
down. That's because their breeze creates a slight windchill effect that can
help sweat evaporate from your skin, which cools

The Dimensions of the Verb ( The Theory of Hyperspace)

2021-09-15 Thread Markendeya Yeddanapudi

*Mar*The Dimensions of the Verb ( The Theory of Hyperspace)

We are all sentenced to expressing our perceptions in sentences. We zero on
a definite subject, and predicate it by marking it with space-time, called
verb. To express simply, the sentence must have a subject, it must tell
something about the subject called predicate, and a verb which indicates
where (space) and when (time), the predication belongs to (in the Universe
of the Space-time Continuum).

The expression of a sentence is the result of directed consciousness.

The Theory of the Hyperspace is based on the expansion of reach of the verb
or space-time, from the commonsense based four dimensions, to many more
dimensions, that is more than the four dimensions of length, breadth,
height and time.

The Physicists are busy re-inventing Spiritualism.

The Theory of Hyperspace is based on the acknowledgement by physicists,
that there is a higher dimensional (Spiritual or Cosmic?) arena, for the
Universe. They are striving to radically revolutionize the verb, so that
the predication covers more than four dimensions.

The Hyperspace Theory is given the name of ‘Kaluza-Klein Theory and Super
gravity. Its most advanced form is the Superstrings Theory, which
speculates the total number of dimensions as ten, adding six more
dimensions to the existing four or increasing the sweep of predication to
ten dimensions, in your sentence expressions. The meaning flow of
predication, and the impact of the verb, radically transforms your
perception and the sentence expression of the perception.

The Theory of Hyperspace is still a pending Theory under speculation.

To confirm it by lab experiment needs a laboratory several times larger
than the CERN lab and electricity which is several times more than the
electricity generated by all power stations of the world today. This task
of mechanizing the creation of God, and develop the logic of the machine or
the techno-logic, is today in the realm of daydreams.

But there is a very simple method. Just try to smell converse with a plant
or some animal, in free and lush nature. All of them are living may be in
more than the ten dimensions now propounded in the Superstrings gravity
Theory.

Pak network in India

ATS of Delhi, ATS of UP and of Maharashtra have caught a network of Pak trained

Surprisingly all but one are from UP and Delhi.
Pak was creation of mostly UP and Bengali Muslims.
They had been and are creating trouble to achieve GHAZWAI E HIND aided and
abetted by parties whose only aim is to fill up pockets of Dynasts and
followers. They have got a boost from recently expanded terror network of Pak,

How to deal with this problem? Any suggestions?

BANK LOCKER

2021-09-15 Thread 'gopala krishnan' via Thatha_Patty

BANK LOCKER

Dear friends,

About a fortnight back I went to the nearby State bank of India, whichwas
earlier state bank of Hyderabad. While the bank branch  was opened in my area
Madampakkam, I transferredthe accounts of my son and mine from TNagar and
requested for a Locker.  Collecting 3 years rental in advance I was allotteda
medium locker, since I was having a locker already in TNagar.

Now the state bank of India isarranging  one fixed deposit lean with locker. So
for the medium locker, the staff desired a new TDR for 2-00 separately
inPrincipal person’s name. New form of SBI to be filled up and signed in about
15places by all operating persons. I gave on the spot my cheque and filled
upform for fixed deposit. Somehow after three times checking for missing of
signaturesand other details and  other supportingdocuments it was received by
them.

At that time itself I wasthinking of reposting of my earlierwrite up dated
25-2-2010 about locker  with updating.

Other than some interesting nostalgicincidents written  with humour
andexaggeration  nothing serious is there  in this reposting..

Both ten years back ortoday, getting a locker is horse horn.

Sincerely,

Gopala Krishnan 15 -09-2021

1. Consequences of Locker thinking

After my son’s marriage Idesired to rent a bank locker at Trivandrum(where I
was at that time) sothat   my daughter in Law’s jewellery canbe kept safe if
she desired  to keep somequantity with us before leaving  abroad.  I just
intimated my son and daughter in Lawabout my intention.

My son replied- Appa, we candeclare and take as much we require when we go, in
one sentence. This put me tofurther dilemma whether in that case Locker was
necessary?. He was not readyfor any further talks about it. He wanted
everything as desired by daughter inLaw.

However our daughter in Lawunderstanding my predicament came to me and said –
“Appa we would have one here”.Till today she supports me in all predicaments.

My wife all the while busywith kitchen preparation appeared on the scene
hearing my daughter I Lawtalking to me. She enquired the subject matter.
Daughter in law said – appa isasking about renting locker to us. She is very
clever in her wordings.

“Still sumangali prarthanainot over, you   have not gone visitingall relatives.
You have to wear jewels and go, why appa is like this- He isalways in hurry.
Hedoes not discuss things with me.

I will tell when all these are to be done. What is the hurry for all these
now”?

Withdrawing to kitchen mywife made a comment to sambandhi mami, but for my
special hearing.  I have gone with Raji (Close friend) and Ihave seen her
keeping all silver vessels too in the Locker. Appa thinks he onlyknows all
these things. If we take bigger locker silver items also can be kept.

I am sure while seeing theBank manager and Accountant of SBH during marriage,
appa has already discussedall these things and rented one small locker already.

Now he is making an eye wash. Don’t I know how he might  deal  with things,
after living for thirty yearswith him?

2. Bank manager and accountant attending marriage

For my son’s the marriage, the auditorium arranged was just opposite to the
SBH. In fact the manager ofthe bank was younger brother of one of my colleagues
in the Trivandrum TrainingCentre. This colleague got an NRE account for my son
in the bank. Being mycolleague’s brother he too became close. On that account I
invited them for themarriage and they too attended. Though I had never
discussed anything of lockerearlier with them, I knewvery well I would fail if
I try to prove my innocence.

 3. Locker- a very scarce commodity

After coming to my office Icalled my Asst Engineer and very close friend Sasi
expert in financial mattersand financially sound above  GM, by inheritedwealth
of his wife. I just opened the topic about locker. He smiled and told heis
having a locker with State Bank of India near his house at Kowdiar. From him
for the first time I  under stood it is not so easy to get bank locker.

>From him I understood mostof the banks have nil capacity for allotment. He
>explained me in soft words itis horse horn. I well understood he is helpless
>in the matter. However I wassure he would better think than me.

I frantically thought why I opened the topicwith son and daughter in Law(newly
wedded) without having basic informationabout this horse horn. My worry started
what would be my predicament if I mightnot succeed in getting a locker.

4. Assistant Engineer calls on me again

After one hour he came to mewith some files for approval. With a smiling face
he started Locker topic. Ithought he would have spoke to his bank and got some
good news to me. I putdownall files and started listening him.

5. Asst engineer suggestion

My happiness became very lesswhen I understood he was  going to putforth some
suggestions. He had two suggestions. One was to discuss with

39  SNKARACHARYAR– IMPORTANT WORKS

Someof the important ones are listed below:

1. Brahma Soothra Bhaashyam. (hismasterpiece)or Saareeraka Meemaamsaa
Bhaashyam, for which Vaachaspathi Misran wroteBhaamathi Vyaakhaanam and
Padmapaadar, Panchapaadikaa Vivaranam. Incidentally,in Advaitha Vedaantham,
these later even led to two schools of thought -

BhaamathiPrasthhaanam and Vivarana Prasthhaanam.

2. Bhagavad Geetha Bhaashyam. Some haveargued about its authorship, while
others have tried to prove it to be his.

3. Bhaashyamsfor Upanishads

i.BrihadaaranyakopanishadBhaashyam: Perhaps the most ancient andelaborate of
the Upanishads. Belongs to Sukla Yajur Vedam and has two branches- Kaanwa
Saakha and Maadhyandina Saakha. Sureswaran wrote a Vaarthikam(grammer- based
interpretation) to this Bhaashyam.

ii.Chhaandogyopanishad Bhaashyam: Almostequally ancient and second largest;
belongs to Saama Vedam.

iii.Thaithireeyopanishad Bhaashyam:Sureswaranwrote a Vaarthikam for this too.

iv.Aithareyopanishad Bhaashyam:Also calledBaahvyacham or Aatmashtakam, it is
from the second of the five Aaranyakamsbelonging to Aithareya Braahmanam of
Rigvedam.

v.Eesaanopanishad Bhaashyam:Also calledSamhithopanishad, it has 18 Manthrams
from Sukla Yajurveda Samhitha. Accordingto Sankarabhaashyam, the two paths,
Karmamaargam exclusive and can hardly bepracticed simultaneously.

vi.Katthopanishad Bhaashyam: Ancient andpopular Upanishad. Includes the meeting
of Nachikethas with Yaman, seeking andreceiving boon for attaining Moksham.

vii.Kenopanishad Bhaashyam: He wrote twoBhaashyams, Pada Bhaashyam and Vaakya
Bhaashyam.

viii.Mundakopanishad Bhaashyam: Belongs toAttharva Vedam and is in verse form
(as in Eesaavaasyopanishad Bhaashyam. Itconcerns primarily with Samnyaasam and
Jnaana Maargam. Sounakan seeks advicefrom Aangirass as to what knowledge would
lead to the highest knowledge(self-realisation).

ix.Prasnopanishad Bhaashyam: Part ofAttharvaVedam. Set in question-answer
format, it asserts that Jnaana Maargam is forBrahmachaaris (ascetics) and
Samnyaasis and not for Grihastthans (Aasramis) whoare immersed in worldly
matters.

x.Maandookyopanishad Bhaashyam: Somemodern scholars have raised doubts as to
whether or not the Bhaashyams for thisand its Goudapaada Kaarika (memorial
verse) are really Sankaraachaaryar’s.

Nrisihathaapaneeyopanishad and Swethaa swatharopanishadare said to be
Sankaraachaaryar’s, but according to many scholars, these are ofa much later
period.

4. UpadesaSaahasri. A Prakarana Granthham (typicaltext) with 19 Prakaranams in
the prose part and 3 in the verse part. Consideredas his authentic
non-commentative work.

5. DakshinaamoortySthothram. With 10 verses writtenin Saardoola Vikreeditham
Vritham. Sureswaran wrote a Bhaashyam,“Maanasollaasam”. Advaithis respectfully
remember this work.

6. VishnuSahasranaama Sthothram - Bhaashyam. Apopular one. Melpathur Narayana

Bhattathiriin his “Naaraayaneeyam”, affirms that the work is the Aachaaryar’s.

7. Sanathsujaatheeyam.A Sankara Bhaashyam (defensive style);some doubt its
authorship.

8. Dasa-Sloki.Unlikely to be anyone else’s work.;Madhusoodana Saraswathi wrote a

Vyaakhyaanam for this.

 9. Satha-Sloki.Quite probably his work. Deals withAdvaitha Thathwam.

10.  YogasoothraBhaashya Vivaranam. Very probablethat he is the author. An
exposition on Vyaasan’s commentary on Yog Soothram, afundamental text of the
Yoga School.

11.  SoundaryaLahari

 12.  SankaraSmruthi. Believed to be his work on the Aachaarams (Anaachaarams)
of Kerala.

13.  HasthaamalakaBhaashyam or VedanthaSidhhaantha Deepika. Claimed to be his
work, on the poems written apparently byHasthaamalakan.

There are a number of Sthothrams believed to bewritten by him. However, one may
come across different names for the sameSthothram. There are some in which the
number of verses may differ slightly, and called “Ashtakam” or “Navarathna
Maala”. “Dwaadasa Panjarika” and“Chathurdasa Panjarika” offer minor variations
of the same work. There are twocompositions in the same name, “Advaitha
Pancharathnam”.

40EPILOGUE

Sankaraachaaryarhad not only reached such spiritual heights, which hardly any
human couldattain, he also acted and breathed some fresh air into the society
which wasshowing signs of degradation.

Realisingthat, in Kerala, education and learning was somewhat stagnant and that
the mindsetof the society had to be made more progressive, he convened two
one-month longconferences in the south Kollam and the north Panthalaayani
Kollam, attended bymany learned scholars. After detailed deliberations, they
reached a consensus, and a new set of social codes (Keralaachaaram) was set
forth.

Thesedecisions were quite revolutionary in those days.

Thesocial stigma against widows was removed by him and a decent status given
tothem. Hedeclared that in Kerala, widows need not shave off their heads

1 DOGs

The first thing to note is: there’s no such thing as “the dog.” Just like
humans, each dog is different. So while scientists are working hard on
collecting data about the way dogs experience the world, it’s important to
remember that their findings aren’t designed to give you a blueprint to
your particular pet. The studies can be interesting, useful guides, but the
real joy of dog cognition is in getting curious about the way your own dog
thinks.

While you get to know your dog’s mind, remember that there are many
different kinds of intelligence. Some dogs might excel at gauging social
situations, others might be adept at learning words, while still others
might have great problem-solving abilities — or your dog might have some
other cognitive skill entirely. The research had proved that dog and Human
minds are corelated.

Although every dog is unique, there is enough evidence to indicate that
species-wide one of the really special things about dogs is how well they
understand humans. “They are very attentive to and responsive to us, which
is a great social cognitive skill,” Dr. Alexandra Horowitz, head of the Dog
Cognition Lab at Barnard College,
Columbia University, told me.

Researchers don’t entirely agree on why dogs are so socially savvy
.
The prevailing view is that their social intelligence is evolutionary: {
dogs are found 14000 years back as per fossils discovered} the pets we know
today, breeding has favored qualities that make dogs good companions to
humans, such as friendliness and an affinity for us, which make them good
at reading our behavior. There’s also a theory that each dog simply
acquires his or her social intelligence through the sheer amount of time
spent around humans – that’s why puppy socialization
 is so
important.

The answer might be a combination of these two factors – of evolution and
socialization. Either way, the result is a species with a remarkable
fondness for and understanding of humans. AGE OF DOMESTICATIONS IS IN MANY
1000S OF YEARS; and dogs are seen in in Hinduism scriptures too; a tribe
Pulayan reared dogs for hunting; Kshatriyas had dogs to spy. Today Military
forces have dogs in the front to identify mines; and USA troop left many
dogs when they retreated from Afganisthan on aug 31 2021.

This manifests in many ways. Zachary Silver, a Ph.D. student in the Comparative
Cognition Lab at Yale University, studies the
way dogs interpret the social world. “They’re extremely skillful at
following our communicative cues, especially our points and our gazes,” he
told me. “But it even goes a step further: they pay really close attention
to how we interact with each other.” For instance, there’s evidence to
suggest that, in some contexts, dogs will notice whether a human is helpful
or unhelpful, and favor the helpful person.

Silver’s current research focuses on dogs’ understanding of humans’
perspectives: he’s working to build on previous findings indicating that,
in some contexts, if food is hidden such that a dog sees one person observe
the hiding and one miss it, they are more likely to take a hint about its
whereabouts from the person who watched it being hidden. This suggests that
dogs might be drawing all sorts of complex conclusions about what we know
and feel.

As Silver observes, “Dogs do pretty sophisticated things regarding
understanding our own perspective.”

The Dog’s Nose Knows

If humans want to understand what it’s like to be a dog, the nose is an
excellent place to start. It’s well known that dogs have a much more
powerful sense of smell than humans, but did you know just how much more
powerful? As Alexandra Horowitz outlines in her *New York Times* bestselling
book “Being a Dog: Following the Dog Into a World of Smell”:

*Explosive-detection dogs smell as little as a picogram—a trillionth of a
gram— of TNT or other explosive. What might it be like to notice a picogram
of an odor? … The average cinnamon roll has about a gram of cinnamon in it.
Sure, the human nose is on it, from the moment we open the door of the
house. Now imagine the smell of one trillion cinnamon rolls. That’s what
the dog coming in with us smells when we enter.*

And GOD and DOG are two sides of a coin and protects when close to them
(KR) I HAD 3 DOGS AND THE LAST WAS AN Alsatian (German shepherd reared
from 7th day of high breed) named by me as Venkatesh. My wife used to feed
it with her hands; whenever I was away from my home for weeks, HE (he) did
his job so diligently; and the veterinarian used to be frightened of his
postures and would receive the injections only if I am there asking him to
take it. None can near him; he had not bitten any one; but if any one steps
in he will jump nowhere from a corner and arrest the man or woman, placing
the forelegs on his/
