What you have so far is a JS macro, not a widget. Widgets are, IMO, much more complicated than macros (and filter operators) and assume some deep understanding of TW without any clue how to gain that understanding. You can find a write-up on JS macros here:

Adam, It all depends on how you reference the tiddler. If the tiddlername is stored in the text or within a field (excluding the list field) the link may fall out. The Quickest and easiest way to avoid broken links is to use tags. When you rename a tag it is updated where ever it is used

The update works here. A little twitchy, it needs the first square bracket and a bit of tapping inside and outside of the text box but it autocompletes. Nice! For me being able to get the filter to appear at the cursor in the text edit area would be the ideal but that sounds like a tall order.
