You don't. Perhaps you have some htaccess file with a syntax error in your
server / that directory?

Best wishes,

Hi Cully,

in general, you use a variable in filters like so:

[somefiltersomeotherfilter{some text!!reference}]

Hi Cully

Thank you for the feedback and the bug report! I am happy to hear that there is
at least one other user than me :–)

Seems I am not hiding these texts properly, just moving them out of sight. I
never use browser windows that wide. I will have a look at the CSS.

Another thing I am thinking over is the icon on the right: Should I use
standard fold/unfold icons instead of "…" and a close-cross?

All the best,

[tw] TW5 TiddlyWiki on Remote (Shared) Host: 500 Internal Server Error

2017-01-16 Thread Purgatori Sakkara
So after months of working on my personal TiddlyWiki in a strictly-offline
capacity, I decided to upload it to the public html folder of my shared
hosting account (Nixihost, FYI). For some reason, though, when I visit my
Tiddlywiki at http://mydomain.com/main.html I encounter the following error
instead of my TiddlyWiki:

Internal Server Error
>
> The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
> unable to complete your request.
>
> Please contact the server administrator at [redacted] to inform them of
> the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before
> this error.
>
> More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
>
> Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while
> trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
>

Now I have read a little about store.php, but, from what I understand,
that's something you only need if you want to save your local TiddlyWiki to
a remote host rather than manually uploading it. Shouldn't a TiddlyWiki
file 'just work' when accessed online, the way it does when you access it
through a browser locally, or do I need to set some additional
configuration options/permissions in order for it to work?

[tw] Re: [TW5] Presenting ToDoNow – a Beta Version of my ToDo-List-Plugin

2017-01-16 Thread Cully

Thomas,

Great job on the ToDo plugin. I have been using it for a few weeks now and
have stopped using the other ToDo list makers I have used.

I have come across a odd formatting issue I can't seem to resolve. With the
browser at full screen and my resolution is set to 1600 x 900 all is good
but when I go up to 1920 X 1080 I see "Set deadline" and "Uuups!" or "Do
Now" like in the image. If I resize the browser it appears and though they
are stationary but eventually go away.

Have any thoughts?

[tw] Use of variable in a list filter

2017-01-16 Thread Cully
How do you use a variable in a list filter? I need to use a variable to
list tiddlers that have a given tag (results) but I am not able to get the
syntax right.

I have defined <> by using:

\define ThisCustomer() <$list filter='[is[current]tags[]]-[[Contacts]]'
variable=ThisCustomer>

Here is what I have for the entire filter:

<$list
filter="[!has[draft.of!]!tag[Opportunity]!tag[Closed]!tag[Template]sort[]]">

It is returning the list I expect but I need to limit the results to the
tiddlers that have the results defined by ThisCustomer.

I'm sure it's simple but... After several hours of searching I thought I
would ask.

Thanks!

Re: [tw] TW5 for blog

2017-01-16 Thread Riz
Hi,
@Jed; Is there a "How to" somewhere as to how you integrated that to TW5?
@Josiah: Yeah I wanted something diff, little more integrated kind.

@Seba.
Here is a simpler method.

Create a stylesheet, and post the CSS code below.

<$reveal type="nomatch" state="$:/Key" text="open sesame">
button[aria-label="edit"] {display:none}

This will hide the edit button using CSS (which is essentially what almost
all other methods are doing here.) To unhide it, you simply create a new
tiddler, title it "$:/Key" and add the text as "open sesame"

Of course you can extend this to hide anything with appropriate CSS rules
and unhide it upon creating the key.

for eg; you want to hide the entire control buttons and the sidebar

<$reveal type="nomatch" state="$:/Key" text="open sesame">
.tc-tiddler-controls, .tc-sidebar-scrollable, .tc-topbar-right
{display:none}
.tc-story-river {padding-right: 3em; margin-right: 0;}

Note: In this condition you can deprived of the ability to create new
tiddlers, which means you have to create "$:/Key" tiddler in a separate
wiki and drag and drop it to your Wiki.

For an extra layer of fun, do it like this. Tag the stylesheet tiddler as
"Lock" in addition to "$:/tags/Stylesheet". Now the CSS rules should be
specified as

<$reveal type="nomatch" state="$:/Key" text="open sesame">
button[aria-label="edit"] {display:none}
.tc-tagged-Lock {display:none;}

This will obscure the Lock tiddler, as in -it will not appear on the
story-river unless there is $:/Key tiddler. Which means unless the viewer
is versatile with TW5 and CSS, it will be little harder to undo something
you cannot see.

PS: You can obviously use a more complex password than "open sesame."

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the feedback Hans & Mat. ;-)

I published another little update version 0.5.1
 of
tobibeer/sparkl

Most of all, you can now render a dotted graph via *as=dots*.

To update, install from:

http://tobibeer.github.io/tw5-plugins/#sparkl-Install

Or via my plugin library:

http://tobibeer.github.io/tw5-plugins/#Library

*Release Notes **v0.5.1*

   - added *link* pattern via filter, similar to *values*
   - added *as*, *as=dots* & *dot-size*
   - slightly increased the default *width*
   - changed position computation to pixels, not *em*
  - browsers appear to inconsistently render the bar width when in *em*

Best wishes,

Tobias.

Because it's designed that way ;-)

Both ingredients and steps are lists, one unordered the other ordered.

What you can do is extend each step with more text, e.g.:

* 2 tb butter <>

whereas...

\define info(tiddler)

<$transclude tiddler="""$tiddler$"""/>

Or directly do:

* 2 tb butter

<$transclude tiddler="Fresh Butter"/>

...and then style your info bit appropriately.

Best wishes,

Tobias.

Install this TWClassic plugin: http://www.tiddlytools.com/#MatchTagsPlugin

Once installed, you can then use Boolean tag operators (AND, OR, NOT)
within the "[tags[...]]" filter of the TW core TW <> macro, like this:

 <

and you can create complex expressions using multiple operators and
parentheses as needed:

<>

For flexibility in formatting the list output, you can use the
plugin-define <> macro, which provides additional output options.

Re: [tw] Re: TiddlyWiki app idea

2017-01-16 Thread PJO
Small, addendum, having looked at the github discussion: I don't need to
*count* visits or keep a history (I'd archive the browser history if I
did). I just want to know when I last visited a web page.

I keep some of my bookmarks in TiddlyWiki and that works pretty well apart
from not tracking which sites I visited when -- so I've never scaled this
up as much as I'd like.

Why am I doing this? I am trying to bring a little additional order to some
of my reading. It's a January experiment, that's all. I often find that I
haven't checked in with some sites for too long (and I do not want to
consume RSS or anything in the meantime).*

Maybe down the road it would be interesting to combine this
 (plugin
for pulling pinboard bookmarks into tiddlers), a Tiddlywiki hosted on
node.js, and perhaps a browser plugin for updating the Tiddlywiki (that is,
the date of any site bookmarked if visited without clicking on it in the
wiki). But for now I'll settle for manual curation and a date that updates
when an adjacent link is clicked! :-)

*This is something I've wanted to do anyway for a long time but, FWIW, I
did recently have the experience of finding that I didn't discover known
bugs in a security system which I might have discovered ahead of what
turned out to be a false alarm event, and not a burglarly, if I had
realised how long it was since I lasted visited a particular site.

[tw] Re: TW5 for blog

2017-01-16 Thread Seba
I'm not that far along yet, and I don't think it will be possible on the
github-pages.

I've tried creating a tiddler online and it's not stored properly. The way
I currently work is edit offline, push to my git repo and my github-page
reloads it.

Here is the link: https://sebastjan-hribar.github.io/

I've only one post so far. This one is important and the platform I used to
have it on is down for some time now and I needed a quick solution.

That is definitely a fail from my part. Partially because the video has no
audio, and it should. What it is happening on the video is that NoteSelf is
automatically picking the cookie on the browser, and using it for
authentication. In a normal situation, if you click the login button
(labeled as offline) you will be prompted for an username and password.

Thank you for pointing that confusing part of the video.

What kind of version control and why do you think that node is more
suitable for it?
The problem of your requirement is the nature of tiddlywiki. Tiddlywiki is
not able to use two sync adapters. So if you have an adapter that syncs to
a database, like the one that is being used in NoteSelf you can not
synchronize to the filesystem. Such requirement will require both a custom
client plugin and a special version of a server plugin. Maybe in a future I
could provide such configuration, but at the moment I don't have time to
implement it properly.

Re: [tw] Re: TiddlyWiki app idea

2017-01-16 Thread PMario
At the moment the "record-comment" macro allows to creates a log-entry
every minute. This is accomplished with the <> macro.
The macro can be found in the test-filter tiddler.

\define record-comment()
<$action-setfield $tiddler=<> $index=<> $value={{!!comment}}/>
<$action-setfield $tiddler=<> $field=comment $value="--"/>
\end

if you want to have 1 second granularity just change the second line to

\define record-comment()
<$action-setfield $tiddler=<> $index=<> $value={{!!comment}}/>
<$action-setfield $tiddler=<> $field=comment $value="--"/>
\end

If you want to keep the comment just delete the 3rd line. like so:

\define record-comment()
<$action-setfield $tiddler=<> $index=<> $value={{!!comment}}/>
\end

have fun!

uups, forgot to talke about the workflow :)

For me it is important to have a possibility to add a comment to every
journal entry.

1 add comment
2 click add journal entry
3 open link.

or just 3 open link, if you don't want to add a journal.
or just use 1 and 2 without 3 ... and so on

have fun!

Re: [tw] Re: TiddlyWiki app idea

2017-01-16 Thread PMario
Hi PJO,

*Important: Use a backup of your TW, to play with this concept.*

I did create a proof of concept, to play around with the input
possibilities and a decent display structure, that I think could be useful.

The attachment contains a file, that you can download and drag and drop
import into your TW.
It contains several files.

test-filter ... main tiddler to play with. It conains 5 different "views",
where the last one looks promising for me.

google-link... test journal 1
tiddlywiki-link ... test journal 2 To create a URL, that should be
tracked, just create a *tiddler named *eg: x-link, *tag it*: track and
add a *field *named: url: https:/example.com Tiddlers tagged: track will
contain the journal.

index-text-template ... template to display timestamp as plain text
table-template ... table row template, kind of useful

link-journal-styles ... simple style sheet.

li-template ... list template, very rough, just for experimenting.
li-template-1 ... list template, very rough, just for experimenting.

The easiest way to get going is to delete stuff, that you don't like. Just
keep what you want :)

Feedback is very welcome! .. So I can iterate and try to create a simple
plugin. Templates, Styles and so on will be system tiddlers. A the moment
everything is visible, to make debugging easy.

have fun!

That depends on how open your cloudant is. Any server on the internet that
responses to request can be queried thousands of times. That is the base of
a DDOs attack. If all your resources are publicly available then yes, they
can make thousands of requests to your database and you will be billed for
that.

Re: [tw] Re: TiddlyWiki app idea

2017-01-16 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Tracking external links can be a tricky business. For example, there's no
JavaScript event issued if a user right clicks on a link and selects to open it
in a new tab/window. I'd be more inclined to focus the other way around:
constructing an action widget for opening a link in a new tab, and then using
that within a button.

Best wishes

I like your cook wiki layout. I tried to steal it, but cant figure out
how.. How do you make the ingredients boxes? some viewTemplate? or custom
css hidden some place?

I like that ingredient lists is nicely styled, but it is still marked up as
a simple list (so it is useful if I some how break some stuff in my TW and
have the raw tiddler text).

[tw] TW5 for blog

2017-01-16 Thread Seba

Hi all,

I'm a happy user of TW classic even though it's been a few years since I've
actively used it. Now I've decided to use TW5 for my blog. Combining the
power of TW5 with github pages it was literally a few minutes to have the
blog up and running.

My question is, can I limit the editing options when tiddly is viewed over
https? I mean I wouldn't mind using it as it is, since it's a blog and
changes anyone would make in my online version wouldn't be stored anyway,
but still it would be a nice feature to limit the edit stuff for online
viewing.

kind regards,
seba

[tw] Re: Add Javascript tracking code to TW5

2017-01-16 Thread Jed Carty
The easiest way for testing is probably to put the javascript code in the
text of a tiddler and then tag that tiddler with $:/tags/RawMarkup this
puts the text of the tiddler into the html head element so you have to save
the wiki and reload it to see the effects of any changes you make to the
code.

2017-01-16 Thread Tobias Beer
Hi PMario,

I guess you have noticed by now that, no matter how you turn it,
there currently is no way to attach some custom button action to external
links.
At least, that is what experimenting will make you aware of.

Best wishes,

Tobias.

[tw] Re: Filtering a list with backwards regular expression

2017-01-16 Thread Tobias Beer
Hi Sara,

If I get it right, I think your *varPattern *perhaps needs a little
polishing.
At least, it should constrain matches respecting word boundaries, e.g.:

\define varPattern()
\b$(var)$\b
\end

...so that *a_b* does not match *a_b_c*.

Best wishes,

Tobias.

[tw] Re: TiddlyWiki app idea

2017-01-16 Thread PMario
Hi PJO,

So if I understand it right, you want a list of links represented by
"journal like link-buttons"
Whenever you click a link it adds a record to the journal.

My idea is, to use one data-tiddler per URL / journal. ... They are easy to
create
Then use a "custom" list to create the "journal like link-buttons"
Those buttons may use action-setfield widget to populate the journal.
...

just a rough idea, no experiments made yet.

see:
http://tiddlywiki.com/#ActionSetFieldWidget:DataTiddlers%20ActionWidgets%20ActionSetFieldWidget

have fun!

Hi Rene,

You may have a look at, the listops widget:
http://tiddlywiki.com/#ActionListopsWidget and play with the examples.

In a tiddler can custom fields have multiple values?
How are they seperated?
How do i get single values?

Example:
field "names": "Donald Duck",Daisy,Goofy

[tw] Re: TiddlyWiki app idea

2017-01-16 Thread PJO
I'm aware of browser history, thanks.

What I was thinking of was an app that allowed me to tag a curated list of
web sites to facilitate some kind of regular review (weekly, monthly and
quarterly, say). No bookmarking tool I've ever seen does it. Currently one
can add bookmarks to folders readily enough but the link doesn't get a
last-visited date. My browser history tends to get large and then get
wiped. I mainly use it after a browser crash to find things I hadn't
finished reading or to find something that has come up in conversation and
which I didn't think to bookmark earlier.
