Re: [tw5] How to highlight the search keyword after clicking the search results

2019-11-07 Thread Birthe C
After importing the plugin, save and refresh your wiki. Opening advanced
search you should have a tab context search. If you want that any other
place you should follow the description i the plugins readme.

it probably can do that-- there's so many things TW can do-- a list widget
could read all due date fields and order them chronologically, or just show
those within a set number of days of the current date that can be
manipulated further

I was figuring all the tasks would have due dates, some constant but it
sounded like some were going to have their due dates updated enmass
regularly--

but right now we're going off of general outline of what you want to do
that you'll be able to detail further as other suggest ideas

how would the due dates be updated by the wiki startup (which would be
current date I'm assumng)-- not code-wise but the actual due dates? would
they be ordered by their due date or is the due date more like number of
days rather than a date

[tw5] Tiddlywiki customizations

2019-11-07 Thread Java Developer
Hi,

How to do Tiddlywiki customizations ? Any good reference to override or do
custom changes as per the specification so that future upgrade will be
automatically supported.

Below are the customization planning to do

1. Integrate javascript with the combox option and keyin the provided text
box without disturbing the search functions.

Planning to add a combo box option near to the search box with option such
as Plain Text and English to Tamil for now.So when user chooses the
english to tamil combo box option, Where when user types english..it's
equivalent word is
done in tamil

example, type ammaa in the below url -
http://english-to-tamil.herokuapp.com/ and it will convert to tamil

It has done by simple javascript - opensource...which i want to integrate
near to the search box with a combo option

https://github.com/Prash88/English-to-tamil-converter/tree/master/scripts

2. Need to high light the search content after search results are
published. However context search plugin is not working. Even if it works,
it is not working when we navigate through the pages...It just
highlight..However on clicking the page, the text should be
highlightedBasically they need to pass a function when open a page and
resolve this

3. Export to PDF and Word options

Thanks.

I was hoping to have the due date update itself "automatically" somehow.
Each task has its own due date. I am not sure how I would implement that in
a different tiddler. Would there be any way to have the dates

These recurring tasks, would their due date be solely updated or will they
also potentially not be updated at times? If these recurring tasks will be
regularly updated with a common new due date I would have them all read
from a single tiddler where you set the updated due date. In tiddlers, the
content/text field qualifies as a field and is easily edited, transcluded--
like how temp and state tiddlers operate. Also using the text field gives
more options is the due date's content/format-- other fields can have
limits on what you put into them.

I was thinking of using APL symbols since they're in extended unicode, was
needing short buttons labels (why I used Pi and Σ) but if I add an actual
Pi/π key (3.14) I may switch to +/ for the sum key but I believe there's
also a shrunken sum unicode... think ppl would understand +/?

the wikitext sum & product math operators have a similiar layout but
reversed

I wonder if thats why they called them reducing operators?

the second function *(what I call multi) of add, subtract, multiply, divide
are similar, also reversed
-- =1 =2 =3 +1 (with the calculator-- type in 1 2 3 (1st field) click +
button type in 1 (2nd field) click = button)

I was thinking of a dropdown in between text entry fields but went with
buttons thinking of a data entry sequence like so: type in 1 2 3 (1st
field), type in 1 (2nd field), click + button, click = button, click Mn
button if you want to send result to a new operation)

> Of course many other binary operators could also be used such a cieiling

I'm seeing about incorpating the floor and ceil(ing) math operators
eventually along with

   - *Unary operators* apply an operation to each number in the input list
   (e.g. negate, truncate, sign)
  - =1 =2 =3 =4 +[negate[]] evaluates to -1 -2 -3 -4
  - =1.2 =2.4 =3.6 =4.8 +[trunc[]] evaluates to 1 2 3 4
  - =1.2 =2.4 =3.6 =4.8 +[round[]] evaluates to 1 2 4 5

I believe I can use the macro from my filter builder to allow unlimited
chaining (currently at one math filter run) of math operations...

I feel along with this...It would be better if a user checkbox and delete
button can be provided as it would be a simple option to have but saves a
lot of time...Since most of the users may not be too technical. This is
just a suggestion if something can be implemented...

i will try the above and update whether it resolves the problem.

[tw5] Re: How to delete the contents in Wiki?

2019-11-07 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
You can go to the advanced search (the magnifying glass). Then click on the
filter tab.

Make a filter for the kind of things you want to delete. For instance, to
delete all journal entries:

[tag[Journal]]

then click on the little trash can icon to delete all Journal entries.

Likewise for table of contents

[tag[TableOfContents]]

It may take awhile to figure out which things you want to delete. You can't
delete everything -- you might delete the context search feature!

You can also search everything that is recent:

[!sort[created]!is[system]limit[25]]

This shows the 25 most recent tiddlers that are not system tiddlers.

You can check this list, and if it's nothing you need, delete again. Change
25 to whatever number you need to prevent deleting something useful.

Hope that helped.

I get that with Firefox occasionally and this _may_ be your issue-- on your
browser's save popup window, check the underneath file name text field at
the bottom of the window-- there's a file format drop-down, make sure it
isn't set for .txt, FF will remember if you ever set it to .txt and will
apply it to all future saves

[tw5] Best method to update date fields in tiddlers?

2019-11-07 Thread Jesse Racine
I'm a newbie to Tiddlywiki plugin development.

I want to work on my own plugin for task management, especially having to
do with recurring tasks/meetings. My plan is to have a "duedate" field in
tiddlers. If the tiddler is a recurring task tiddler, the duedate field in
that tiddler will have to be updated to the next due date.

My question is, how can I update the duedate field? I've played around with
view templates, so one thought I had was to update the duedate field in the
view template, but I am pretty sure that is not the correct way to do it.
Plus, updating it in the view template doesn't make sense, because the new
duedate wouldn't be updated during a search operation (if the tiddler
hadn't been viewed recently).

Any suggestions here are welcome. Thanks for your help.

I suppose the cleanest solution would be to add a macro based on

-[<__tag__>] -[enlist<__exclude__>]""">
<$list filter="[all[current]toc-link[no]]" variable="ignore"

Maybe I can somehow add an untagged[]-filter to the list created in that

Danielo's Context (search) plugin v 2.1.0 does work in the latest version
of TiddlyWiki:

There is one minor issue that does not affect the standard highlighting.
The class tw-context ought to be tc-context (TW 5.0.16 beta changed the
prefix for classe from tw- to tc-). 2 tiddlers contain tc-context:

* $:/plugins/danielo515/ContextPlugin/Stylesheet/results
* $:/plugins/danielo515/ContextPlugin/widgets/context.js

Cheers,

Ton

Please do not use "tiddlytools" in link shortcuts. I have been using
"TiddlyTools" as my professional consulting trademark/servicemark since

Re: [tw5] Re: How to accomplish the listed features in Tiddly Wiki

2019-11-07 Thread Java Developer
Basically want to integrate javascript with combo box option near to the
search box..Where when user types english..it's equivalent word is
done in tamil

example, type ammaa in the below url -
http://english-to-tamil.herokuapp.com/ and it will convert to tamil

It has done by simple javascript - opensource...which i want to integrate
near to the search box with a combo option

https://github.com/Prash88/English-to-tamil-converter/tree/master/scripts

For Importing text files, i used the import option given in the wiki itself
which i didn't noticed earlier...

I have imported 120 MB of data...However wiki is very fast in
performance..facing only 2 issues

1. How to integrate the above javascript to make it user friendly for
multi-lingual support
2. How to highlight the search keyword in the content..currently the
context search plugin doesn't work in the latest wiki version..looks some
bug

Thanks

Just to be clear, did you read:

https://tiddlywiki.com/#Macro%20Calls%20in%20WikiText

There are so many tiddlers at tiddlywiki.com with "macro" in the title, it
might be hard to find these at first.

If these weren't sufficient, it would be helpful to know what was missing.

Good luck!

2019-11-07 Thread @TiddlyTweeter
Ciao Ton

Scott's approach uses Media Queries to incrementally add function AT
different viewport sizes.

In effect there is not A design for mobile v. desktop. Rather, there are
several stages of reveal of function at different viewport sizes.
Each step revealing more.

I think that interesting. And relevant to design.

Best wishes

Hi all,

There are many ways leading to Rome.
Some time ago I made an experimetal mobile theme
,
where a menu button toggled between story river and sidebar. One of the
drawbacks was that after searching (in the sidebar) you had to switch back
to the story river to see the searched tiddler.

Lateron I changed the structure: with a button you can now toggle the
sidebar: it slides up/down.

I forgot to publish the new version. You can see a demo at
http://tw5mobile.tiddlyspot.com/ where you can import or drag & drop the
theme to your wiki.

NOTE: It is a real theme, so you can switch from e.g. Snow White to my
Mobie theme and vice versa.

Cheers,

2019-11-07 Thread Hubert
Hi TiddlyTweeter,

This document

lists a large number of TW CSS classes/selectors that I personally use as a
reference in my experiments. I think you can get very far with your design
pursuits with this reference alone.

I'm not sure whether introducing a UI for every single tweakable appearance
element is worth the development time and effort, especially that it could
also introduce bloat along the way. Just my two cents.

Hubert

[tw5] Help building (trivial) nested list from tag and field

2019-11-07 Thread Pascal Piallat
Hello

I have several tiddlers tagged "Articles" and and I would like the Article
tiddler to display a list of these articles sorted by author (field) :

AuthorA
* Article Z
* Article Y
AuthorB
* Article C
AuthorC
* Article X

I'm sure it's a trivial problem but I've been trying hard and did not
succeed :(
I generate a first outer list with
<$list filter="[tag[Articles]each[author]get[author]]">
but then I don't find the way to display for each author their articles.
I'm at loss... any clues ?

[tw5] Re: CSS: A sidebar for mobile

2019-11-07 Thread David Gifford
Nice! Just a question: how would a web user access those controls on a
small device since they are hidden? As in, saving the file? On my phone I
can turn it sideways and access those. But for sharing with others it might
be a bit confusing for them. Maybe some kind of small button to expand the
sidebar would improve this just a bit? But that said, this is really nice.
Kudos.

[tw5] Re: More math: standard-metric converter

2019-11-07 Thread HansWobbe

@ A. Gloom

Your use of ..."Pi" button for sum (adding) of a series of numbers & "Σ"
button, for product
Resonated with me because of my time with APL
 (A Programming
Language), which was in part a logically consistent way of teaching
algebra. It introduced the "/" symbol as an operator that applied another
operator across all of the element of an argument. For example: " +/ 1 2 "
produced 3 as the sum of 1 and 2, while " x/ 1 2 " produced the product of
2. Of course many other binary operators could also be used such a
cieiling (for Largest) and Floor (for smallest)

APL was very well received and earned a "grace Hopper" award for its
implementers, as well as achieving considerable commercial success. The
underlying concepts are extremely logical and reduce many of the notation
problems that come from trying to standardize the expression of algebraic
formulas, functions and operators.

Thank you for sharing your work and for your contributions to the group.

Regards,
Hans

Also as stated before we need to demonstrate how to address elements in

Ah so what I want is currently impossible. I hope someone may work a way to
install a mapi or other email service into tiddlywiki even if it demanded a
login to an external mail router. I would love to be able to attach tiddlers
containing an attachment with a bundle of tiddlers. It would be a way to submit
surveys or updates from a read only wiki that can then be imported to a master
wiki.

Thanks for your effort though

Tony

Of course. Looking at the pure ASCII file of a mail it's trivial. The
content type is multipart mixed. A boundary string is defined and then the
whole body looks something like this:

Mail text here
--BOUNDARY
HTML text here
--BOUNDARY
attachment 1 here
--BOUNDARY
attachment 2 here
--BOUNDARY--

But you cannot pass that using a mailto-link.

[tw5] Re: CSS: A sidebar for mobile

2019-11-07 Thread @TiddlyTweeter
Ciao Scott

I played with it. It works. Fiddling with the media queries widths I was
able to match Android phones (360px break point for many Androids in
portrait).

In brief, what I LIKE about it...

   - It is simple. It builds from TW CSS as is, rather than going back to
   ground zero

   - Very good illustration of use of differential CSS behaviour at device
   "breakpoints"

It is interesting in that TW CSS is more mobile amenable than it first
looks.

Best wishes
TT
