Riz,

I think it is because every discussion has had a tendency to mix the plugin
with the exe version of Bob.
I also think I might not have been the only one having problems with some
of the latest versions. The last version is very good, lots of good
explanations. Still Jed might be overwhelmed with support questions. Just
some thoughts.

My Favourites are Firefox with Timimi, BobExe and Tiddlyspot.

TT,

I am a simpleton. I use a dedicated tiddlywiki, open i the browser tab next
to the one I use to read the Google Group. Then I bookmark the things I
find interesting right now in that TW. But of course I do not always read
everything or do not really have the interest for a special matter right at

Often I use Tiddlyclip for that. Fast and the bookmark tagged as I know

Install the plugin from there and read about how to use it, but to make it

[tw5] Re: Next/Prev in Tag Set button?

2020-05-03 Thread Birthe C
TonyM,

Most of the slideshow versions use something like that. You could also look
at Mohammads,
https://kookma.github.io/TW-TOC/ The navigation tiddlers.

You wrote about the wish for buttons like that for Stroll. Sure but are you
sure the wish is for tag navigation. The tiddlers are navigated through
links mostly, The tiddlers does not necessarily have any tags in common.
That button is also possible, but that would be navigating the
history...and Stroll is using two stories and two histories.

Hi David, yes I changed to a shorter name :))

The new style sheet looks good! I have included screenshots of Stroll
vs TiddlyWiki for Spartan Night palette. Few things I immediately notice:

 - In Stroll, links to missing tiddlers are not italicized, links to
 external sites are not underscored.

 - Stroll handles transclusion differently, the color of transcluded box
seems to be inverted, is this intended? in TiddlyWiki transclusion looks
seamlessly merged into background tiddler. (tbh I think TiddlyWiki makes
 it
 look better for this palette)

 - The color of monospaced code also seems to be inverted.

 - After deleting the TiddlyBlink style sheet, the transcluded reference
looks like a single link (this is expected)

 That's all for now.

I would like to pester you a little. Long time ago you created twaddle.
That really inspired people to get tiddler fiddling (addiction). Would you
at some time consider a twaddle2.
If you do, include a list of your plugins.

Those instructions for regex use one of the other three variables that
 I mentioned, tv-get-export-link instead of tv-filter-export-link, which
 requires javascript.

You can mix and match both approaches but then it can be a little
tricky to ensure that both always return the exact same filenames and
corresponding links. This may not be an issue, but there is a chance it
might cause problems at some point. Basically its a case of making sure
 the
filter in tv-filter-export-link does the exact same thing as the
 javascript.

With the way I outlined, you use the same filters for both and there is
no javascript involved, so there are no chances of such issues. Or
alternatively one could write another javascript macro that defines the
 url
variable, using the same javascript logic.
For a non-developer I think the non-javascript based approach will be
 easiest in the long run.

 Saq

Am I misunderstanding? A theme is discussed but to me it seems you want to
change the workings of tiddlywiki.
If so remember there is such thing as backwards compatibility.

I think it is from the official plugin library. I also think you are right.
Easy for users to install themselves, and it takes 2 plugins to work.

 Hi all

Looking at updating TiddlyBlink with the features explained in this
link: two columns of tiddlers, folding tiddlers, moving tiddlers between
columns. A HUGE thank you to Saq Imtiaz and TonyM for their help with this.

 https://giffmex.org/experiments/tiddlyblink.experiment.html

 Known things to fix:

 1) Wide gap between columns when the sidebar is open *(we will
probably leave this alone for now, very minor issue)*
 2) Sidebar should probably close by default when shift clicking to
start a new column *(fixed: problem was a width setting)*
 3) Close others in viewtoolbar is not working properly* (I just need
to explain in instructions that it only works within the same story, not
 across stories)*
 4) Completely redo the instructions. *(I plan to do video
 instructions)*

 Comments? Frustrations? Confusion? Questions?

It is necessary to try it out and do it for quite some time to really fall

Peter,

I think we should pay attention to the examples Tony gave - task and
priority. That kind of stuff.
Tobias Beer advocated very much for the use of fields and created some
demos. (no I do not remember the links right now)

[tw5] Re: Book tracking for the reading enthusiast

2020-04-20 Thread Birthe C
Jed,

I did it the dirty way directy in your tiddlers. Måns and I did that a lot
while using TWclassic. Now as then an elaborate but also a learning
experience. AND I must add only for our own wikies.

The best solution to make it possible to have translation in many languages
is the solution by Thomas Elmiger. It is used in ToDoNow
the languages is in the Listreveal plugin
 .
Jan used the same way of doing it in Metatabs. I haven't seen anybody else
yet. Not everything can be translated in this way but most of it. Rather
easy the user have to clone and copy a tiddler and name it after the wanted
language. The tiddler contains a list of wordpairs, translate them. A
tiddler language exists, and a link to the translated tiddler is copied
into it.
Thomas uses the macro $:/plugins/telmiger/lib/telang
 .I
do not think I am able to explain it any further.
How difficult that method is for the plugin author, I really do not know.

I do think it is a great way a good plugin could end having translations to
many languages. If an author want to, he could ask translators to send the
translation tiddler. They could be listed on a plugin site. It would also
be some measure of how popular and used a plugin were all over the world.

I do think though, you have more important things to do ;-)

Peter,

You have used the search, I am sure. You will have to enter 3 letters
before something happens.
Now think the same for the tag dropdown. 0 or 3 or what have you. The
hidden setting is pr. default 0, change that to your liking.
I would not do it before having to.

Would that be https://ooktech.com/jed/externalbrain/#Dashboard library
Tracker?
I am using a lot of what you have made. Categorylist to name the one I use
most often. I would wouldn't I after all the time I spend translating some
of the things ;-).

No wonder you have a hard time remembering it all, you made so much nice

We have that, and it should not distract you in any way from your important
work on Bob and twederation.

Thank you so much for all the goodies,

Re: [tw5] Rethinking tiddlywiki.com

2020-04-20 Thread Birthe C
Jeremy,

That would be a nice approach. TiddlyWiki will present itself nice and
hopefully irresistible. New users will not use TiddlyWiki for long before
they will want the full Tiddlywiki to be available as do the long timers.

Aside from that. In former discussions, many are the wishes, but
tiddlywiki.com can not house all of them. That would end up a mishmash.

Julio Peña,

Interesting and nice looking.
The main thing is of couse how you keep track of you books. I might go for
it too.
I wonder how you make use of Task-Dates? I have tried to make that one work
for a very long time now. Jed had a nice example but i never found out how.
