[tw5] triggering send-message from a permalink URL

2022-10-09 Thread K P
I am using Ben Weber's DND campaign tools twiki
(https://benwebber.github.io/tiddlywiki-dnd/).
It has a feature to export a copy of the twiki that only include non-system
tiddlers w/ the 'Public' tag. Core to that feature is calling send-message
'tm-download-file'.

I am looking for a way to automate this via a cron and wget.

I've been looking but am at a loss of a way to trigger an action widget via
direct URl call.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

[tw5] Re: Keyboard-only Tiddlywiki

2020-06-05 Thread Georgia K
Hi,

I wish for the same thing for a while and now I do that by some browser
extensions to have vim-like keystrokes / keyboard operation ... though it's
limited to the browser and more keyboard shortcuts native to TW would be
really great.

Thank you Tim

that's really weird I don't have this behavior on any of my installations
(3 of them)

the dates are parsed from the UTC timestamp so, my best guess at the
moment, that it is related to the time zone ???

any chance you can attach a cleansed copy of your TW file so i can take a
closer look ?

[tw5] How to build a "dynamic" list ?

2020-06-05 Thread Tony K
I am running a nested filter and looking to get a list of all the results
(sorry TonyM I am really trying to explain)

filter 1 gets all tiddlers with a specific tag[DailyNotes]
<$list filter="[tag[DailyNotes]]" >

filter 2 will go over all these results and looking for a specific text
pattern
<$list filter="[get[text]regexp[$pattern$\b(?i)]

what I am looking to do is having one list in a variable with all the
results of the second filter

ActionListopsWidget would do it but it is an action and requires a trigger
which I do not have in my case

is there a way to do that ?

thanks

Hello John

thank you for the kind words

I am not sure I understood quite well what you mean, I would appreciate if
you could share a screenshot

this being said (and I am not sure if that what you mean) I did change the
name of the tiddler in this version to accomodate for custom date formats

the tiddler itself will have the format 0MM0DD however the displayed
format on the main tiddler (called but alt+q) will show in the format you
want

I hope it helps

Hi Tim

Thanks for your kind words

Nothing to worry about

1. Temp tiddlers are deleted every refresh
2. You won't accumulate, they are the same tiddlers overwritten. Meaning it
won't create one per every time you use or so

Glad you like it

Thanks for the reply

let me make sure I understood correctly

today you already can add #ProjectX before and entry right ? so you would
want to get a way to list (for example) all entries for #projectA ?? did i
get it right?

for todo I started added todo on the previous version and just enhanced it
in this one. give /todo a test and tell me how it goes

Cheers

[tw5] Re: [Plugin] TWCrossLinks

2020-06-04 Thread Tony K
Hi Stephan

I think what you are referring to are "Freelinks"

TWCrossLinks handles Freelinks from the "Receiving" side so if you go to
the tiddler called "example" it will show all other tiddlers that has
"example" even if it is not [[Example]]

what I think you are asking for is to actually change example to
[[example]] in the source tiddler? this is a popular request but I didn't
get to work on it yet but it is on the todo list

[tw5] how not to run same filter twice ??

2020-05-22 Thread Tony K
A follow up question to the one I just asked also about filters

I have this filter

[regexp:title] [regexp:text] -[all[current]backlinks[]] -[
is[current]] -[tag[hide]] -[is[system]]

until now I am running it 3 times

1. to set a variable true/false

isFreelink = {{{ [regexp:title] [regexp:text] -[
all[current]backlinks[]] -[is[current]] -[tag[hide]] -[is[system]] +[then[
true]else[false]] }}}

2. as a counter

<$count filter= [regexp:title] [regexp:text]
-[all[current]backlinks[]] -[is[current]] -[tag[hide]] -[is[system]]

3. to get the actual list

<$list filter=[regexp:title] [regexp:text]
-[all[current]backlinks[]] -[is[current]] -[tag[hide]] -[is[system]]

is there a way to run it only once and then evaluate the other 2 from the
list already saved?

thank you

[tw5] [question] transclude from within a macro ?

2020-05-21 Thread Tony K
relevant portion of the code below

\define dn-ts(timestamp)
"""<$macrocall $name="jstiddler" timestamp=$timestamp$ format="-0MM-0DD"
/>"""
\end

<>

this works and displays the time stamp is the required format i.e 2020-05-21

however what I need is to transclude the tiddler with title 2020-05-21 and
that i can't achieve

thank you

Hello Tony

Your patience is remarkable thank you so much

yes I am aware that an empty messaeg can be a macro however I wasn't able
to make it set the value of the same variable for the rest of the code like
explained by Saq and yourself in the if-then-else scenario

the second issue I faced is the cannot take arguments which

[tw5] Re: Date format without $view ?

2020-05-20 Thread Tony K
Hello Tony

Thanks a lot for replying, and I would be highly interested to learn how to
do it in wikitext and widgets

I tried to explain what I am trying to do in my OP but I will try again.
Issue is it sounds so clear in my head that I am getting troubles
explaining it.

Below are 2 entries in the same tiddler of my DailyNotes plugin. The first
one has the old timestamp (only hours) the second one new timestamp

22:34~Entry with old time stamp

20200520223405903~Entry with new time stamp

what I am trying to do is a function setting a variable called timestamp to
22:34 no matter if I feed it with 22:34 or 20200520223405903

thanks again

I am trying to make my code backward compatible so what I need is when I

I tried to work with length

[tw5] Set value of a variable conditionally

2020-05-20 Thread Tony K
I can't figure out how to set the value of a variable based on a specific
condition so, instead, I am writing the code twice

e.g.

<$list filter="[length[]match[9]]">
<$set name="type" value="short">
{full code here}

<$list filter="[length[]!match[9]]">
<$set name="type" value="long">
{full code here}

this is not really efficient.

I tried conditionally inserting the first line of the "$set" but it didnt'
work (as follows) even thought logically it should

<$list filter="[length[]match[9]]">
<$set name="type" value="short">

<$list filter="[length[]!match[9]]">
<$set name="type" value="long">

{full code here}

I am sure there is some kind of a workaround for this

thanks for shedding any light

[tw5] Re: Another mention of TW as alternative to Roam

2020-05-18 Thread Tony K
I came to TW from roam.

after using Roam for a few weeks I loved it but I was really worried about
the announced priced tag and found TW looking for alternatives.

First I started with TiddlyBlink then put Drift together and never looked
back

So far not missing any features in roam (maybe the map a bit)

[tw5] Re: [Tutorial] running your own Node.js TW5 on Microsoft Azure for Free

2020-05-18 Thread Tony K
Hello Riz

thank you for the heads up, I do not have an account, this said I will try
to answer the questions here

   1. Yes I am assuming that someone is already using TW5 with Node.js
locally but if not, as already mentioned, you can only create your own
TiddlyWiki.info file and an empty tiddlers directory. Attached a copy of a
   brand new tiddlywiki.info file
   2. For the different "flavor" you dont' need to "install" it. Start with
a brand new installation and then drag/drop Stroll / Drift or whatever you
want on top of it, import refresh and you are good to go
   3. For the last question regarding the username and password, if it is
asking for a username and password then it means that TW5 is up and
running, what I would suggest at this point is to remove the username and
password and test if it works fine then probably there is something wrong
with either of the 2. (maybe some special character in a special language?)

I really hope this helps

oh thank you Mark, I should have asked days ago

a follow-up question please, is there a way to "add" '\n' that is not using

i.e in TWCrosslinks when then entry is added to the input box the plugins
appends it to a tiddler, for now I am using which, visually, doesn't
look so good if you open the tiddler.

thank you
