Hi, I have a fresh installation of shupp toaster. I had installed a couple before and maildir are usually located in /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/user/Maildir. But this toaster has some maildirs in /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/user/Maildir and some are in /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/0/user/Maildir. I wonder why there is a 0 .. It happened after I had used vQadmin to Disable changing of password which caused an error:- Failed to change password. (Illegal username), if I try to change password using postmaster. To fix this error, I have to unchecked Disable change password in vQadmin. Has anyone encounter this before? Regards

I successfully built a toaster using both Netqmail 1.06 and Simscan 1.4.0 There are no changes that require updates in the way the toaster is setup, the combined patch will apply and work in the same way for Netqmail 1.06 as for Netqmail 1.05 The setup steps have changed in Netqmail 1.06 since now the sources of the original Qmail do not require to be provided separately and have been merged into Netqmail. Just unpack Netqmail 1.06 and apply the combined patch. Regarding Simscan, it can be rebuilt and updated using the same configure parameters as are provided in the toaster, no changes there either. What combined patch are you using? I look into the changelog of 1.06, there isnt anything much on the patches it use. I would like to know if I need to patch like I did for 1.05

You need to use the ezmlm tool ezmlm-mktab as I recall. Check the ezmlm documentation for details. I had tried the command /usr/local/bin/ezmlm/ezmlm-mktab -d [EMAIL PROTECTED] | mysql -hlocalhost -uuser -p -f db. patch -p0 /path/to/outgoingip.patch then recompile qmail ! Thanks. I had done that. But outgoing mails are still reflecting the 1st IP. I had added the 2nd IP to /var/qmail/control/outgoingip. Is this correct?

I am not sure - maybe something used to work this way in an older toaster? Since I am migrating to a new build, I wonder if it works differently. You might need a mailfilter. Please google for it

Yes, as noted many times before. :) I can't do it until vpopmaild supports it. Last time I check with Rick Widmer, he was planning to add the ezmlm support to vpopmaild. [toaster] Message Quarantine
Hello everyone, Ive been using the toaster for about a year and a half now with absolutely no complaints. After that long on the net however, my server is finally starting to receive a fair amount of spam. According to everything Ive read, spamassassin does not quarantine or delete messages. Ive researched this for several days and Im still puzzled why some emails that are spam get sent to the postmaster account on a domain and some just get tagged as spam and go through to the user. I have our spam rules locked in pretty tight and Ive never had complains from my customers, but Id like to have all tagged messages go to the respective postmaster accounts for each domain. Most of the messages that come through to the user that are tagged are above 10. What is grabbing certain spam messages and moving them to the postmaster accounts? How can I make all tagged messages go to the postmaster account?

All, I'm working on the 0.7 version of my netqmail patch. This time, I thought I'd poll this list to see if there are any useful patches out there that I might not be aware of... please post any suggestions here. So far, the patch will be pretty much the same, but with new versions. However, I'll be replacing the tarpit patch with the spam throttle patch, since the tarpit mechanism is easily (and often) circumvented. I'm contemplating adding the greylisting patch.. but will probably leave that as an optional add-on. Is anyone using the greylisting patch in production? Any thoughts on it? What about SPF? Regards, Bill Shupp I am using greylisting in 2 mail servers. It is good but some users do not like it because of the delay in recieving message. I would like to try SPF and spam throttle. I have read some information about spam throttle before but have no clue how to set it up. I also want to try some patch which may stop users to abuse my smtp server. For example, make sure the return email address of the user to be same as the authenicated username or add the authenicated username to the maessage so that we can find out the spammer easily.
