Could we use JGroups to replicate application context
All,
I agree with this inquiry. I think replication of application context
attributes is conceptually as necessary as session replication. I
usually store things like connection information to back-end servers,
counters and other stuff that I need to share among all sessions.
I'm sorry, but I

Thanks, Filip. So, my next obvious question is, Is there a way we could
replicate data in the application context? If so , has anyone implemented
it?
Thanks much

I'm probably missing something in this whole discussion, but
I'm failing to see why you'd need to replicate 'application' context

Howdy,
Let's say we have a preferences object in each of the jvms running on
each
of the application instances and on one instance we update a preference
(this is a java package that we are using to store user and system
preferences called java.util.prefs which is a singleton in the JVM,

Could JGroups be used to reslove this issue?

I'd say Filip liked it for Session replication.

Can we, using tomcat's clustering, somehow replicate not only session
information for a given user (which would allow that user to transition
amongst the servers as traffic increases) but also maybe the application ??
Thanks

Thanks, Yoav. Appreciate all your help.
Pardon my Ignorance, but, how is session scope the same as application
scope?
