Since you are just 'throwing' in jsp files to tomcat,
there has been no Servlet 2.3 deployment descriptors
created.
You'll need to add something like the following to
%TOMCAT_HOME%\conf\server.xml
!-- beg-jsp context --
Context
console for the applet messages. That works ok, but I think I will look
into log4J.

JSP I'll give it a shot and thanks in advance for any help you can

I am running winXP - Home. jdk1.3.1_02
Installed tomcat4.0.6 without any problems. Changed config as follows :
JAVA_HOME = c:\jdk1.3.1_02
