I tend to think it is more of a complete lack of credible and constant
marketing IE non-existent marketing. The Touch is not out in big box
stores where one can put their hands on it or if lucky ask some
salesman that really knows about it what it is.

pictures I wonder whether they even removed the protective foil from the device

I saw the foil too but the photos looks very like the Logitech photos
from the manual so perhaps they are Logitech supplied press photos.

Two things I think Logitech has done wrong with the Touch launch.
1. TinySC! They should have launched the Touch without it and just
made it a Beta feature that people can play around with that are
interested in it. Much like they did with playback on the Controller.
