I tend to think it is more of a complete lack of credible and constant
marketing IE non-existent marketing. The Touch is not out in big box
stores where one can put their hands on it or if lucky ask some
salesman that really knows about it what it is.

The Touch needs sent out to reviews accompanied with a white paper. The
reviews so far seem to focus in on one thing or another that the Touch
does that other Squeezeboxes didn't do. It seems that the focus of its
the direct replacement for the SB3 and is after all a NMP is lost in
the 'Hey look what's new'.

I for one wish Logitech would use the old distribution so the Touch
could at least to available in audio retail store and shops so some
exposure and word of mouth might happen. The Touch makes a great
digital transport for the person that has a DAC and makes an excellent
analog NMP for the person must moving to ripped Music.

I feel it should be marketed just like the SB3 was because after all it
is the modern replacement for the SB3. Let the other things the Touch
will do that the SB3 couldn't just come along for the ride without
focusing on them. Think about it, just how many people are going to
make a buying decision based on 'Wow, it does Flickr and Facebook. Now
I have to have that.' For most it is going to be either I need a NMP or
I don't. Touch is now the great place to start ones Squeezebox
experience when needing to integrate with HT or Stereo System.

The stand out feature seems to be stand alone mode with TinySC. But
again this is a feature and not the main purpose or what Touch is. It
all comes back to Touch being a NMP and that's probably how it should
be sold and what should be focused on in my opinion. YMMV.
