Strange, since i use spotify on my squeezebox touch ive got the same
problem.
Sometimes, when i change a playlist in the spotify app, it locks up and
after a few seconds reboots the touch, and then it starts playing that
playlist.
I've re-installed the latest 7.8 firmware (was using the edo
I also use spotify, think it's the unofficial plugin, but can't remember
exactly from here. The behaviour was definitely not linked to any active
spotify session for me. Occurred apparently randomly irrespective of
what was currently playing or what had played last.
I think one of the problems

Watchdog expiry won't happen waiting for a response from network - it
will typically happen if code gets
Sorry to keep confusing this thread.
The behaviour was slightly different after the forced kernel update, but
the system did continue to lock up (I had to manually reboot).
In the end I completely removed EDO and have now been running for a
further two weeks without any lock-ups or reboots at
I forced an update of the edo kernel, as a first step before factory
resetting to standard FW. Low and behold:
SBT has been running all weekend without a single crash.
I had thought that edo automatically updated to the latest kernel at
install (that option was selected in the config), but
Supply is suspect if the FW is factory restored (button at the back )
and no modification or apps (EDO ,TT3, Clock screensaver etc ) . Afiak
its designed to reboot when squeezplay crashes it must always run . It
can possibly be the odd crash now and then and the Touch quietly reboots
.
What about trying a different power supply?

I think the watchdog is hardware which resets the unit if the watchdog
timer is not reset regulallry (i.e. to prevent lockup by a task) which
is why there is s/w trace of what is happening.
I still think trying the system using

Ive had this a few times in the past but recently it has become quite
frequent, most listening sessions are now interrupted by this. I will be
enjoying some tunes and usually when Im trying to change album or
something (I mostly stream Spotify on MSB.com) the Touch becomes
unresponsive for
