I have just noticed that the output of monitor-ofono is part of the
logs, and I see that network status actually gets into roaming state.
But, it is in very short time windows:

OK, I feel like a real hacker. Managed to install the network-test-sessions
after a while modyfying some of your suggested commands. Pls see attached file
after sending MMS and trying to receive an MMS. Sending goes through, but
nothing happens when receiving.

I can reproduce it 90% of the times using the attached html file in both Chrome
and Firefox (just one pre tag with enough text to show the horizontal
scrollbar).
In my case, scrolling it to the right and all the way back to the left, so that
the mouse pointer is in the panel's area, cause unity
I pushed a version that correctly gets the dbus session bus and stops
the app for click unregister in lp:~mvo/click/lp1232130-kill-on-
remove-2/ - however its not yet working under PK I'm looking into this
now.

app requires the user to reboot the device. The intended design is for
the launcher to dynamically reset to the initial state and briefly
reveal itself.
