You should try to set the GRID_UNIT_PX to 16 (or any multiply of 8 for
instance) rather than setting the QT_DEVICE_PIXEL_RATIO env var. Support

Yes this patch is already included with kernel 3.19.0-13-generic
It actually more of an issue with the audio control panel. The Mic is gray out.
But after installing pavucontrol it start to work.

If memory runs out, maybe not much can be done, but I believe this has
not happened to me in older Ubuntu versions:

Just to clarify, X did not crash. gnome-session crashed because of mesa
not handling the failure. X itself should be pretty robust against oom.
