  * Screen should re-lock a short while after showing the notification

  Actual behaviour:-

  * Screen stays on

Bug description:
Fan V2 to V3 transition plan

Currently we have V2 Fan kernel patches paired with an
/etc/defaults/ubuntu-fan based single fan mapping setup. We want to
transition to both V3 Fan kernel patches with fanctl based configuration
allowing multiple fans to be configured together.

The new V3 kernel bits fix a significant limitation wherein we could not
have multiple slices of different overlay address ranges on the same local
address. This update introduces an incompatible kernel interface against
a different device. The new functionality is a full superset of the old.

The new V3 kernel bits require updated iproute2 patches to handle the
new netlink form carrying the expanded map forms.

In order to manage multiple Fan devices we are updating ubuntu-fan to use
the new fanctl command line tool and a new fan specific configuration file.

This plan assumes we are not wedded to the kernel interface, that the
supported API is the /etc/defaults/ubuntu-fan fan configuration.

  Considerations
  ==
We are unable to depend on kernel features, as we have no meaninful
  dependencies to kernel versions.

We need to change the primary configuration file and format for ubuntu-fan
package to allow multiple slices of multiple fans to be configured
  together.

We have V2 kernel bits in the wild. We have V2 iproute in the wild.

  Steps
  =
  1) update fanctl to support both the V2 and V3 kernel interfaces as we cannot
depend on a kernel version meaningfully.
  2) update iproute2 to support configuring both V2 and V3 kernel interfaces.
  3) update ubuntu-fan with the updated fanctl, supporting migration
of the /etc/default/fan contents to /etc/network/fan (or directly
handling that form), and depending on the updated iproute2 bits.
  4) release updated iproute2 bits.
  5) release updated ubuntu-fan bits.
  6) release updated kernel bits (V3 kernel module).

  Testing
  ===
Need to test old and new kernels with old and new ubuntu-fan levels.
We obviously do not expect the old userspace to work with the new kernels,
  but it should fail obviously.

I discovered today that the user's choice of SIM slot (configured in

for MMS, and instead it uses whatever system settings / cellular has
configured for cell data. This can cause failure to send MMS, if the
other slot has no service, or can cause the message to be sent from
  the wrong number.

I saw this in krillin ubuntu-touch/ubuntu-rtm/14.09-factory-proposed
  image 10, the OTA4 candidate.

I'm not sure how feasible it is to configure this in the same manner

  as SMS.

GDB hw watchpoints don't work on ppc64le VMs running on top of Ubuntu 14.10
Power8 host (sid.ltc.br.ibm.com). It fails quietly, ptrace calls and dmesg
output display no error message.

Tested on guests running different distros, kernel and gdb versions
(distro's packages and upstream). Unfortunately, I couldn't find any
other Ubuntu 14.10 host to double check the problem, but it worked OK
  in other hosts I've tried.

  Steps to reproduce:

  $ cat test.c
  int a;
  main(void)
  {
  a++;
  }

  $ gcc -g test.c -o test

  $ gdb ./test
  GNU gdb (Ubuntu 7.8.1-1ubuntu2) 7.8.1

  Hardware watchpoint 1: a
  (gdb) run
  Starting program: /home/emachado/test
[Inferior 1 (process 8179) exited with code 0134]
  (gdb)

Curiously, in the host it works as expected:

  $ gdb ./test
  GNU gdb (Ubuntu 7.8-1ubuntu4) 7.8.0.20141001-cvs
  ...
  Reading symbols from ./test...done.
  (gdb) watch a

  Starting program: /home/emachado/test
  Hardware watchpoint 1: a

  Old value = 0
  New value = 1
  main () at test.c:5
  5   }

  source site:
  http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-input-libinput/

why? because i want to use it. i love the input in fedora, i love how my
mouse works together with my wacom both work really smooth on the desktop side.
thats not the case in ubuntu or any other distro.
thats why i tried first arch and it did work like charm and then fedora wich
was much better at this time.

so please, you dont have to set it as default input or anything but
  please build this driver

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1358340] Re: [Indicators] Complete greeter profiles

2015-07-22 Thread Nick Dedekind
I don't think we need to worry about this re profiles. The
implementation of what the options in Settings do is a design/backend
decision. I believe the defaults are correct already.

That said, we should enable the indicator profile switching.

Bug description:
A recent change in the interest of security removed access to the
indicators when the phone is locked and the greeter is showing.

This was an accentual change based on a misunderstanding

There had been a plan to support media playback control via the sound
indicator. Without this the user must unlock the phone in order to
simply pause the music or change songs, etc.

  Desired resolution:

  - Revert the change that caused this issue

  - Add a switch to System Settings to enable security conscious user to
switch off Launcher and Greeter access while the phone is locked.
This setting should *always* be off by default.

Bug description:
  Hi!

Just two things I'd like to see in fav contacts: If you select a
contact and hit the call button, it doesn't place the call, but it
only opens the dialer app and copies the phone number to the input
field. You have to hit the green button to place the call. I think
this is annoying. If I hit the call button, I want the person to be
called immediately. There is no benefit of not placing the call. There
are no options in the dialer app. You just have to hit the green
  button.

The other thing is a little inconsistency with the dialer app. If you select
a contact and hit More and Open Button, you get to the properties screen of
the contacts app. Contrary to that, if you select contacts in the dialer app
and select a contact you first get presented a list with the persons phone
numbers and icons for messages and properties. If you want to call a number you
have to tap the number. I think, most time you select a contact from fav
contacs, you want to contact this person and for that, it should be the same
routine as in the dialer app. Most disturbing is, because you are taken to the
properties of the contact, you must not tap the phone number itself, but the
telephone icon at the right edge of the screen.
In my opinion, first thing you should be presented after hitting the more
button, is that small list as in the dialer app. Even better, forget about the
more button. The list could be presented immediately. So my ideal fav. contacts
screen has the red (why not green as in the dialer app) Call button, which I
like and then the small list as in the dialer app (with all the contacts phone
numbers and the message icons, and the contacts properties icon. ) This would
hold another advantage: You see which number is called when you hit the Call
button (supposed it always dials the first one from the list). Right now, you
never see which type (home, work, ...) of number is called when you tap the
Call Button. You don't see anything in the fav. app and the dialer app just
shows the number, not the type of number.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1476192] Re: No error message when certificate for a configured WLAN is missing

2015-07-22 Thread CaptainPlanet
Hi Matthew,
thank you for your response. Here’s my configuration:

Xubuntu 14.04 LTS
Lenovo Thinkpad T61

The certificate was in the home directory and I moved into
/home/documents.

I already fixed the problem as you described. I just did not remember this may
be the problem at first. So this report is more like suggestion than a bug.
Before I selected the certificates new location the network tried to connect to
the WLAN but failed without error message so I did not know what the actual
problem was.

Hope I expressed myself clearly. Do you need any more information?

Bye

  2) Switch to the B department.
  3) Run search query, typing very slowing so as to cause multiple searches to
be run while the query is being typed.

  Expected results:

Search results from each search during the typing of the search query

  Actual results:

Only the results from the very first search is from department B. As
soon as the second (and subsequent) searches occur while typing, the
search results are from the root department (A).

  Suspected reason:

Adding debug prints to the scope shows that the department for the
search query is only passed along for the first search. If the search
is modified or being typed slowly enough so as to cause multiple
searches to occur, subsequent queries don't include the department at
all, thus the scope defaults to the root department.

Thanks CaptainPlanet. Can you be more specific about steps to reproduce
the bug? For example, whether you're using Ubuntu on a phone or a PC,
what version it is, and where the certificate file was.

It seems to me the simplest approach would be just to put up the auth
dialog again, so that you can re-select the certificate in its new
location.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1476705] Re: postscript printer hideously slow in some cases (pdftops)

2015-07-22 Thread cliddell
Bruno,

To be honest, I don't know what differs between the two tools, as they
both come from Cairo, I assumed that pdftops was just a small wrapper
around the same code as pdftocairo but with the options pre-set for PS
output.

I'm a Ghostscript developer, so I can't really answer specifics about
Cairo - I know about the problems with the Cairo PDF output, as we've
performance problems in Ghostscript with those, and have had some fairly
lengthy (and heated) discussions with Cairo developers on the subject.

And I have helped debug a lot of these problems with the Ghostscript
output, so I can give general suggestions as I did above.

If I had to guess, I would say that pdftocairo is possibly spotting that
the PDF originated as a Cairo file, and is using inside knowledge of
how those are constructed to convert it back into Cairo internal
representation, which is then outputs to Postscript - with that level of
extra information, it can probably be much, much smarter about when
there is real transparency that it has to render, and when everything
opaque, and remain in high level form. Whilst, pstops may be doing a
simpler, one step PDF to Postscript conversion.

Ideally, what you'd want to try is (if possible) to keep the ProRes (I
thought it was ImageRET) mode, but still tell pdftocairo to use 600 dpi, as
you then may get the benefits of more the accurate dot placement, better
halftone results, and possibly better color management, whilst keeping the
quicker processing of the smaller image data.

It's hard to know without deep inside knowledge, but (again) if I had to
guess, I would suggest that the slightly lower quality halftone screen
is what's causing the slight intensity shift you mention. HP are pretty
tight lipped about these technologies, but I know other such systems
tend to allow the halftoning to represent more shades of the color,
without losing detail (generally there is a trade off: you can
approximate lots of shades, but lose detail, or have great detail, but
very few shades).

postscript printer hideously slow in some cases (pdftops)

Status in poppler package in Ubuntu:

Status in system-config-printer package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
With my (old) postscript printer, print a single page can take many
minutes on some situations. It happens with some PDF files (not all)
and Firefox printing of Google map, for example. When this happens, I
observed in system monitor that pdftops is running continuously. After
some manual PDF - PS conversions, I see that pdftops inflates the
file size for problematic cases, but is ok for other files (size
similar to the original file, or even smaller). I don't know if modern
Postscript printers can handle this quickly, but it's unacceptable
here and certainly not an efficient way to print those files.

So I suspect that pdftops should be fixed.

For example, I join a problematic pdf produced by Google Map in
Firefox. I tried many conversions. As you can see, I get a much larger
file (36 times) with pdftops. It is worse with pdf2ps (and it takes
longer to process), so replace pdftops by pdf2ps is not an option for
me. However, pdftocairo quickly produces an efficient file. I have the
same success if I open the PDF file with Evince and print it as a
Postscript file. I get a similar file if I print to PS directly from
Google Map (Firefox). Of course these small PS files produced by
pdftocairo, Evince of Firefox print flawlessly on my printer.

See also Bug # 1095498 which I suspect is the same (old) thing, but I fill a
new one since it doesn't seem to be printer specific.
Of course, another workaround could be to use a PCL driver but no one is
available for my printer (HP Color Laserjet 2605dn).

  1) Initially surface scope, A is the current department.
  2) Switch to the B department.
  3) Run search query.
  4) Return from search (using the back button, top-left).

  Expected results:

The scope shows the department I was in when I started searching, in
  this case, B.

  Actual results:

The scope goes back to the root department (A), ignoring where the
  user was before the search.

Status in Canonical System Image:

Status in Ubuntu UX:

Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
Using vivid-overlay r65, when starting application it seems a
screenshot is used, which is blurry (which might be a design
decision) and sometime doesn't match the application content (I just
had the case that opening sound settings from the indicator gave a
screenshot of the update panel from before the previous system upgrade
that was then replaced by the correct one)

  TEST CASE:
  1. Open system-settings
  2. Tap on wifi icon
  3. Do a right edge swipe to switch system-settings to the background but
don't close it
  4. Press the power button and tap on 'Restart' to reboot the phone
  5. Once rebooted, launch system-settings again

  EXPECTED RESULT
System-settings loads, possibly shows a splash screen and displays the main
panel

  ACTUAL RESULT
It displays a screenshot of the state it was in at shutdown time (or a
previous reboot)

There are missing icons in the app selector and the unity panel is
  unable to display them too.

To reproduce: Take a look at the app selector screen, start a missing
icon app and pin it in the launcher. Now the the missing icon from the
app selector turns to a black square in the unity panel. The apps can
be started from there, but this is a quiz which black square start
  which app.

At the moment these are the apps without icon.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1476692] Re: [Ubuntuphone] Unable to see the app preview screen in Unity8 on Meizu MX4

2015-07-22 Thread Rodney Dawes
Do you have any crash files in /var/crash/ which happened at the same
time? I don't see any specific errors from the apps scope, but it does
look like a scoperunner process crashed due to a memory error.

Please try to recreate the error, and check the contents of the scope-
registry.log file immediately following the failure, without accessing
any other scopes.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1477233] [NEW] autopilot now depends on /usr/bin/gsettings and ubuntu-keyboard

2015-07-22 Thread Iain Lane
Public bug reported:

Since https://code.launchpad.net/~canonical-platform-
qa/autopilot/add_osk_show_workaround/+merge/264944 was uploaded,
autopilot now depends on the executable /usr/bin/gsettings and on
com.canonical.keyboard.maliit being present.

Neither of these are declared, and they both seem undesirable since they
aren't required in general.

Concretely, this breaks shotwell's autopilot test which is automatically
run on some archive uploads.

  https://jenkins.qa.ubuntu.com/job/wily-adt-
shotwell/ARCH=i386,label=adt/49/console

Could this be made opt-in, maybe? Like no-op if the schema isn't
available or something. I don't know what the original motivation for
the change was.

Also I suggest you use proper API to interact with gsettings (Gio via
gobject-introspection) instead of this binary.

** Affects: autopilot (Ubuntu)

Bug description:
In vCard there's support for all kinds of names: family, given,
middle, nickname, but also a separate formatted name. There should
be a priority list for which of those would be displayed when
available, and a config option to change the preference between at
least given family and nickname (separate pref for family,
  given, bug #1439140).

At the moment in the contacts list, I can see the formatted name (as
synced from a remote address book), but when I open the contact,
family and given names are displayed in the header - and I can't edit
  the formatted name.

When searching, only the display name is used there's no way to search
  by other properties (bug #1474308).

Looking at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VCard, structured name (N) is
required in all but v4.0, where formatted name (FN) is required in
v3.0+, it seems that the locale/preference-aware formatting would have
to happen when editing, and stored in FN.

We need to remember about what happens when we switch the preference -
we'll need to save all the contacts with a new FN (assuming the
original FN matched the previous formatting).

Organization name should be a fallback, too, if no structured or
nickname is given - for organization contacts with no obvious contact
  person.

  # Regression Potential
Worst case scenario an application using qquickscreen would slow down because
of erroneous screen change singals being emitted too often per second. This
would however only reveal a lower level issue in the foundations that
ultimately needs to be fixed anyway.

  # Other Info
The upstream code review [1] explains the issue and solution pretty well.

When switching screens (e. g. when putting the laptop onto the docking
station the notebook screen is turned off and the external one is
turned on) Qt5 applications (including plasmashell) quite often crash.
This makes my laptop unusable, since I do that very frequently.

The problem has already been described here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341497
Apparently it is fixed in Qt 5.5

  I am running Kubuntu 15.04 64bit and libqt5gui5 5.4.1+dfsg-2ubuntu4.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1476705] Re: postscript printer hideously slow in some cases (pdftops)

2015-07-22 Thread James Cloos
pdftops and pdftocairo are both from poppler.

pdftops is based on the original xpdf code and does not use cairo at
all.

modern cairo tries to limit the size of tranparency groups to just where
it is needed.

postscript printer hideously slow in some cases (pdftops)

Status in poppler package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in system-config-printer package in Ubuntu:

Neither of these are declared, and they both seem undesirable since

automatically run on some archive uploads.

Could this be made opt-in, maybe? Like no-op if the schema isn't

  the change was.

Also I suggest you use proper API to interact with gsettings (Gio via
  gobject-introspection) instead of this binary.

It is a fairly specific bug given not everyone will be using BT wifi,
but probably the issue will arise with other ISPs.

When I turn on wifi at home, my phone connects to the Hub fine but Web
access is limited because the phone continues to use the DNS settings
from the cell network (I think). I get an error from BT about using
external DNS rather than those it supplies (required for the child
filter). I haven't tried disabling the filters yet but I could I
  suppose.

If I turn on flight mode and then re-enable wifi everything works fine
but then I don't get phone calls, etc. of course.

Turing off flight mode breaks stuff again.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1458014] Re: audit_printk_skb slowing down boot

2015-07-22 Thread Steve Beattie
You're not seeing what has happened in the meantime because of printk
rate limiting, as evidenced by [ 41.489482] audit_printk_skb: 159
callbacks suppressed. To stop rate limiting kernel printk output,
temporarily add a file in /etc/sysctl.d/ named something like
99-printk_ratelimiting.conf (the suffix is the important part of the
name) that contains:

kernel.printk_ratelimit=0

and then reboot. This will let you see the audit messages that the
kernel is dropping due to rate limiting.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1247216] Re: Support for XMPP

I think there is no momentum here anymore because almost nobody still

I hope that at Ubuntu touch will get support for the textsecure protocol

Touch. A missing spotify app (already in developement :) ), a missing

  especially for XMPP.

Thusly, I propose adding support for XMPP to the messaging-app. It
already uses telepathy so we should be able to add this functionality.
I would also be willing to work on this if somebody points me out
  where to start.

I guess we would have to break this down into several work packages:
setting up accounts, online/offline handling of friends, choosing
protocols when composing a message etc. But first I would like to get
some feedback if you would be okay with such a feature. Maybe it is
  already planned?

Bug description:
On Aquaris 4.5 image 24, I cannot ignore (silence) a call without
rejecting it. I expect to be able to silence the call using the volume
down rocker as is common on other phones, but instead it just reduces
  the ringer volume.

Use case 1: I'm speaking on my desk phone, and my mobile rings loudly.
I want to silence it briefly so I can finish the call on my desk phone
politely before I answer the mobile, so I don't want to reject the
  mobile but keep it ringing.

Use case 2: some people might want to be able to pretend they aren't
there, rather than reject a call, and so might want to silence the
phone for a single incoming call without rejecting it to prevent noise
  annoyance.

Use case 3: you're in a confidential meeting in a board room when you
get an urgent call. You want to silence the phone so as not to disturb
the meeting while you leave so you can answer the call outside, but
cannot answer the phone inside the room for confidentiality reasons.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1465685] Re: OTA4 SMS function now fails

2015-07-22 Thread Tony Espy
As the phone was sold to you by BQ, you should probably contact them.

Regarding the SIM slots. The phone has what's called a dual-standby SIM
implementation. Only of the two SIM slots is allowed to use a 3g
network at any time.

In Settings, I have set SIM2 to 2g/3g and SIM1 to 2g. Does that mean I
am limiting both to 2g ???

No, it means SIM2 is the only SIM allowed to use 3g, but it may fall
back to 2g if that's the only technology available. SIM1 is limited to
2g only.

Note, if you change SIM2 to allow 2g/3g, then the settings screen will
show a spinner, and then automatically set to SIM to just 2g. This
also causes a modem reset to occur.

Regarding the send-sms script, you're trying to run it on the phone
itself, correct ( via the terminal or adb )? I double-checked and the
path I gave you is correct. You can alternatively try to change to that
directory and the command there:

$ cd /usr/share/ofono/scripts
$ ./send-sms /ril_0 617666 dummy text message 0

Oddly, the new auto-reply feature [an SMS saying I will call you back later
etc.] DOES send! Or at least it shows green in the messages list. Could be
that the re-configure to auto-reply is the source of the problem ?
Incidentally, not sure how I configure auto-reply ...

Bluetooth, the call attempts to use SIM 2, even though I use SIM 1 for
just about everything. I can't find out if I set a default somewhere,
  but I can't find it.

This happens on both a Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth car kit and on a Scoda
Octavia identifying as SKODA BT 9385.

I expect the SIM for Bluetooth-initiated calls to either be
configurable, or default to what the Dialer is set to, or for it to
  always use SIM 1.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1453088] Re: isc-dhcp-server apparmor include

2015-07-22 Thread Steve Beattie
Hi Simon. Sorry for the difficulty you encountered. The specific
traceback issue you encountered with aa-complain has been addressed in
trusty in apparmor-utils and python3-apparmor 2.8.95~2430-0ubuntu5.2, so
I'm closing this bug (it was also fixed upstream in the 2.9.2 and 2.10
releases).

Yes, the use of c-style #include and shell style # prefix for comments
is a bit confusing. AppArmor 2.10 which will be in ubuntu 15.10 includes
support for just using the keyword 'include' instead of #include'
(though the latter will still work).

The dhcpd.d include is assuming the base path to look for included
files and directories is /etc/apparmor.d/. In this case, the include
references the directory /etc/apparmor.d/dhcpd.d/ which tells apparmor
to include any files in that directory into the profile. However, the
aa-complain tool before 2.8.95~2430-0ubuntu5.2 did not support including
directories, which is why it crashed.

Thanks!

Two things confuse me. The use of '#' and '# ' to mean include and
for commenting respectively. Is this not going to make bug fixing
  more difficult ?

and two should dhcpd.d include a full path ?

Why is app armour complain complaining with a standard file ?

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1477282] [NEW] automatically toggle 2G to 3/4G

2015-07-22 Thread mikahdh
Public bug reported:

I'm usually connected with 2G because 3G is a battery drainer and for chatting
2G is good to go.
When I use the internet browser I enjoy the comfort of having a fast 3G
connection. Toggling every time is annoying so I'd appreciate a feature where
you can set up your applications which triggers a faster connection when you
open them and reverse when you close.
Should also have a timer so when you leave the browser (3G) for a short time in
the background to check something else it shouldn't reactivate the slow
connection immediately.

I build a Utopic test kernel with a revert of commit a87938b2e. Can you
test this kernel and see if it resolves this bug. I can also built test
kernels for the other Ubuntu releases if this first test kernel does in
fact resolve the bug.

Title:
ELF programs with R_386_RELATIVE blocks are badly mapped into memory

Status in libxslt package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Running the Samba autobuild tests on a 15.04 openstack image results
in a segfault in this command:

  /usr/bin/xsltproc --nonet -o default/docs-xml/manpages/smb.conf.5
  /home/ubuntu/autobuild/b22271/samba/docs-xml/xslt/man.xsl default
  /docs-xml/manpages/smb.conf.5.xml

I reported this upstream as a bug in xsltproc, but it was found to be
impossible to reproduce using upstream source on the openstack
  instance:

  https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=751764

  Comment 8 (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=751764#c8) is
  particularly informative.

The stack trace below shows the segfault actually occurs in libxml's
xpath evaluation functions. I see no difference between xpath.c in
  upstream 2.9.2 and Ubuntu's version.

It is worth noting that I typoed the CVE ID in the changelog.
CVE-2015-1131 should have been CVE-2015-1331.

lxc tools lock handling vulnerable to symlink attack

Status in lxc package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
During LXC security analysis (see [1]) it was found, that when lxc
tools, e.g. lxc-info, are run as user root, a symlink attack on
/run/lock/lxc can be used to create arbitrary files as the root user.
The malicious user has to set up the symlink attack before
/run/lock/lxc/ exists, which is only possible prior to the
administrator creating the first container or automatic startup
  starting after boot starting one.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1474612] Re: LeadingAction animated component shows over left items

Alternatively, you can set clipping on the UbuntuListView, then only one
clipping will be executed, not as many as items are in the view.

Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit source package in Vivid:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
If you have a listitem with trailing actions but no leading actions it
is possible to break the selectMode as the press and hold signal is
  never fired.

Steps with the example QML app [0]
  1) Swipe one of the listitems to the right (to try and reveal a leading
action [which there aren't any])
  2) Press and hold on the swiped listitem
  3) Notice nothing happens (also notice nothing in the log for the press and
hold appears)
  4) Press and hold on another listitem
  5) Notice that all but the swiped listitem change to selectMode=True

  What was expected:
  3) For all of the items to change to selectMode=True
  5) For all of the items to change to selectMode=True

Note that you can 'fix' the listitem by swiping to the left and
clicking on an action or dismissing the swipe, then you are able to
press and hold it to activate selectMode correctly again.

Bug description:
In music we use dark colours for the listitem background and therefore
the background of the actions. With the 'new' listitems you can set
the colour of the action by putting it inside a Rectangle. However I
have been unable to set the colour if you 'pull' too far, it appears
  as white in this case.

I have created a mini app here [0], if you open the application and
drag a listitem to the left you will notice that the action appears,
with a background colour set, but then if the user pulls too far it
turns to white. (I assume it is the same with the leading actions if
you didn't want them to have a red background)

Is there anyway we can set this colour?

Setting ListItem.selected doesn’t update the checkbox state

  Fix Committed
Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit source package in Vivid:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
Since yesterday webbrowser-app in wily uses the new ListItem API
available in version 1.2 of the UITK. I’ve noticed one bug when a list
is in multi-selection mode, which I’ve isolated in the attached test
  file.

  To reproduce the issue:
   - launch the scene with qmlscene
   - click on the checkbox of any item (its opacity increases from 0.3 to 1.0)
   - then click anywhere on the same item but the checkbox, this deselects the
item (the opacity of the item decreases to 0.3)

Expected result: the checkbox is unchecked
Current result: the checkbox remains checked

rejecting it.

  Hi,

There are no option to sync contact for a human being form the

that many users of Ubuntu might be moving from Android or other famous
OS on phone; these OS not always give the option to sync contact on
SIM, but on an file on the SDCARD, so Ubuntu (address-book-app) should
provide a way to import these backups.

  Steps :

   * Launch contacts
   * no option to sync, import/export contact are found on the interface (only
a search option and a + option)
   * swipe from down to access the + menu, users might expect to add manually
contact here, no more option like importing contacts from file.
   * To be sure I checked in the system settings, no import option found there

User should be able to add contact from his backup on SDCARD (no one
want to import hundreds of contacts manually).

Title:
unity8-dash appears in landscape mode, incorrectly scaled

Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
If the device gets locked while in landscape mode, on resume applications get
displayed with wrong proportions, for a short time. In the case of unity8-dash,
this state persists until another app is started.
  Please see the attached screenshot.

  Exact steps to reproduce:

  - Close all running apps
  - Open system settings, or any app which supports landscape mode
  - hold the device in landscape mode, and wait for the shell to rotate
  - switch to the task manager
  - close the app
  - press the power button to lock the device

  - press the power button and unlock the device (still holding in in portrait
mode)
  - stand in admiration of the dash in landscape mode :-)

Also, while in this state, if you rotate your device you'll see that
you can transition between (broken) landscape and portrait mode for
  the unity8-dash too :-)

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1048430] Re: dnsmasq not available on the bus

2015-07-22 Thread Stéphane Berthelot
I also encounter this bug on fresh Kubuntu 15.04 install. I'm on SSD I don't
know if the daemons starting speed has somthing to do with this.
I suppose NM gets the DNS info (from DHCP), tries to notify dnsmasq. Since
dnsmasq is not yet started it launches it but I don't see any retry afterwards
to send DNS info to dnsmasq once started.
The symptoms for me are working IP stacks (both 4 and 6), correct routing, but
with all DNS requests refused (by 127.0.1.1).
Restarting NM after makes everything work as expected (dnsmasq is then already
started)
How can I see if NM retries to pass the DNS info to dnsmasq once started ?

That's what I get on boot, nothing about NM or dnsmasq after, until I
restart NM service.

I have made a fix for this on the linked branch above. Please could you
re-test with this branch to confirm if the issue is resolved.

Autopilot tests on desktop fail when trying to detect maliit

Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu:

uses components from UITK 1.3.
I build and install UITK packages from the trunk.

When running tests that use the keyboard, they all fail with the
  following exception (elided for clarity):

maliit-server's status: Command '['/sbin/initctl', 'status', 'maliit-server']'
returned non-zero exit status 1

What seems to be happening is that the UITK emulators are trying to
see if maliit-server is running by asking the status of the job, but
there is no such job installed at all on desktop, so this always
  fails.
