I've verified these as best as I can. I installed 1.14.4 and played a
load of different filetypes:
- mp3
- ogg
- flac
- opus
- mp4 (H.264)
with different codecs, e.g. mpg123, libav, ...
and different players - epiphany, totem, rhythmbox.
I didn't find any regressions.

I've retried the failing tests, except why3 which I think is just busted
(not glib2.0's fault - good for a badtest?)
Have smoke tested on disco and it seems good to me. I ran the desktop
for a bit, checking the video player, text editor, image viewer and web
browser. Shell itself of course uses GL

I did some more poking this morning and followed up to the thread. A
change in 2.80 has made this start happening. I'm hoping that someone
upstream will understand what's going on enough to propose a fix.

After looking for a while, I think that the error we were managing to
reproduce (LOWERLAYERDOWN) was probably a red herring, and we were
reproducing some other (valid) bug. The original cause of the testsuite
failure still exists.
Not entirely sure why but this only reproduces for me 'properly' wh
I'm uploading to all supported releases, to be safe and to satisfy the
SRU process (trying to minimise the possibility of regressing the bug).
For cosmic, suggest running through the testcase and making sure it
still works.
