In journalctl I found that whenever the machine reached suspend target, ACPI kicked in to wake the machine again. kernel: ACPI: Low-level resume complete Today, I put the machine to sleep (using the alt option on the shutdown menu). The machine woke up every two seconds and went to sleep again
