[Touch-packages] [Bug 1530376] Re: On desktop, target="_blank" link should open new windows, not background tabs

2016-04-19 Thread Dario Cavedon
Good point. Maybe it only need a little blinking animation at the bottom
of the browser, where you see the number of the open tabs (see my awful-
five-minutes-attachment). And in the desktop view, the new background
tab could blink for a two seconds.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1530376] Re: On desktop, target="_blank" link should open new windows, not background tabs

2016-04-17 Thread Dario Cavedon
"On a phone, this would be the expected behaviour."

On a phone, I think it would be better if it opens a new tab (OK), and
your focus is on that new tab. I think it's better, because if you're on
your phone, and you click on the "twitter button", you can't immediatly
realize if your click was ok. Somebody could click two o three time
before realizing that webbrowser app already open two or three new tabs.

This is what actually happens with Firefox on Android and even with
Explorer on Windows Phone. A new Ubuntu Phone user - coming from that
user experience - should expect it.

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1559522] Re: Thumbnailer fails to fetch thumbnails from Internet

2016-04-02 Thread Dario Cavedon
Hi,
I found (part of) the problem, at the least the one concerning R.E.M.
thumbnails. The problem seems to be the... dots! I've modified "artist" tags in
the MP3 files, cleaning-up "dots" in the "R.E.M." artist name. Without them,
fetching 7digital works! It recognize "REM", but not "R.E.M."

So I've made a copy of two songs, leaving a copy with "dotted" tags and
the others without dots, wipe the cache, and you can see in the attached
picture the result.

Still: artist thumbnail works both with "R.E.M." and "REM", so the
problem is only when fetching album thumbnail. On the attached picture
attached you can see.

I think that is only part of the problem, because other artists don't
have dots or any other special char on their name. I'm testing those MP3
files, I think I can get some result in the next days.

Here's the dbus.log file

2016-03-24 Thread Dario Cavedon
Hi Michi,
only this morning I've understood your request for the zipped dbus logs - I
didn't realize of those files before, sorry.

Well, now I saw there are seven of that kind of file, but only in one of
them (see attachment) I found something interesting (let me know if you
want me to upload the others).

If I want to do a test, how can I force refreshing the thumbnail cache
before the one week term? I really don't know if it's a temporary error
from 7digital, but I always have the same problem with specific album
artworks, while others always work.

Thanks,
Dario

[Touch-packages] [Bug 1530376] [NEW] Focus on the wrong tab when sharing a page using share buttons

2015-12-31 Thread Dario Cavedon
Public bug reported:

In webbrowser-app, when you share a web page using the "share buttons", you get
the wrong tab: you remain on the same tab instead being on the new tab.
You can reproduce the bug every time, e.g.:
1) open the link
http://arstechnica.com/science/2015/12/space-for-europe-and-for-all-humankind-a-brief-history-of-the-esa/
2) click on the "social button Twitter" (see attacchment "1")
3) the webbrowser-app opens a new tab, but you remain on the first one (see "2")
4) if you click on the first tab, you refresh it so you can see the page (see
"3")
5) if you click on the second tab, you can see the right page, and you can
share the link (see "4")

Happens with webbrowser-app 0.23+15.10.20150929-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 15.10
desktop and Ubuntu Phone OTA 8.5.

On the mako / Nexus 4, the camera has an LED to use for camera flash.
Our camera app supports the flash, and fires it while taking a picture
with flash enabled. However, the resulting image ends up severely
underexposed, to the point where almost the entire image is black.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Run the camera app.
  2. Take a picture with flash off.
  3. Turn the flash setting on and take a picture of the same scene again.
  4. Go to the gallery app to view the results.

Expected results: The picture with flash should appear brighter (or,
at least, appear how most with-flash pictures look).

Actual results: The picture with flash is almost completely black,
with only a few dim details in the brightest parts of the image.
