I can't see any geo dependancy for GIMP.
The indicator-datetime package does depend on geo however. This is the
time/date applet on the panel. I believe this dependency has to do with the
weather info functionality.
However you should avoid doing that because I believe there is a bug in the
mailing list integration and such hidden links are lost there.
People can't seem to build web pages any more without boat loads of

Sounds to me that gthumb crashes would have been a much better title to

There's probably something funny going on with your files.

Is the gpg-agent running?
pgrep gpg -l
Did you make the file executable?

You just did. pgrep lists processes.
What happens if you run

If you get no output (as in all is fine) try kleo again.
I believe that works all right. You can try running compiz or a game like

I mean did you make the .desktop file executable? You might need to include
full path in it to your script (which also has to be exe).
And kleo?
So my question is: Does Trisquel compile ALL packages from the source code
or only the kernel?
Looking at this (outdated) graphic, the answer is yes

I don't understand too much about tor but I think if you provide an exit node
and somebody does something illegal, it appears you're to blame. This makes
it less likely people provide exit nodes.
And the network is useless without exits.
On the other hand, the government can provide exit

expected to use sudo.
So, to become root use sudo su, which asks for YOUR password and not root's.
In case you have forgotten YOUR password, you need a live media. Or another
OS which can access your /etc/shadow file.
I do not like it, but at least I understand now. Thanks :)
I don't like it either and thus filed https://trisquel.info/en/issues/2003
I've been pondering doing this myself. How are the costs?
Congrats!
In case Triquel updates the kernel sometimes later (but to a version 3.5)
will it downgrade my installation so that I'd have to install this again?
I believe the kernel with the largest version number is the default choice,
so no.
Use the passwd command. There might be a fancy GUI way too.
lspci|grep VGA
That's of course good but if the software isn't free, it can't be included in

First of all, how do I quote when I make a reply, a bit of a noob question

Just copy/paste what you wish to quote and prefix it with a

Because Ubuntu has no problem using Wi-Fi I wonder what it is that I'm
missing or doing wrong to get Wi-Fi working with the default Wi-Fi card
(BCM43224) in Trisquel.
Trisquel is basically Ubuntu minus non-free software. So, the wifi probably
requires a proprietary firmware blob to work.

come to think of it, trisquel is running on the proprietary nvidia driver
installed on the ubuntu host when I run it in a virtualbox, isn't it ?
This is correct.
You can prepare a trisquel live stick with the package glxgears installed.
This little programm shows three running gears using 3d acceleration. You
will recognize if they don't run fluently in case of no 3d acceleration.
I don't think this is very good advice. I got no hardware acceleration
lightdm isn't installed in Trisquel but gdm. And the problem isn't password

What is needed is autologin. To enable it, edit (or create, dunno if it

I am still very inexperienced with Trisquel, but to my knowledge, if it is
not available through the repositories, that's probably because it is not
free (Libre) software.
Actually there is plenty of free software that's not included in Trisquel as
nobody has packaged it for Debian or
Last option is to compile the program. It's really an exception. During
normal computing, this is not necessary.
I think that's somewhat of an exaggeration. There's million pieces of free

Yes if you are the copyright holder or have explicit permission from the
copyright holder.
You'll have to ask the admin of that site about the retention.

It's possible with a CPU which is completely useless these days. Not possible
with GPUs. No idea about FPGAs and ACICs.
You might need to compile it yourself, dunno if it requires newer libraries

Well, in Trisquel just mentioning a proprietary software is not allowed.
Many people who don't care too much about freedom seem to like apple
